    Finally!!

After 14 months, countless hours fixing stuff, 800$ at the fuel dock finally got to fish. Not much for size, caught 3 mahi, should have boated 6 or 8 but our technique needs work. Made for a great meal. Hate to think what it cost per pound, but worth every penny.

Battery Replacements on 2003 Marlin 300

I replaced mine with dual purpose from batteries plus. Use them for both cranking and house separated into 3 banks (cranking, cranking and house). I only use flooded lead acid batteries. Maintenance and charging (strongly rec a super smart charger maintainer desulfator) are paramount to...

    engine lift

Had someone else do some diagnostics while i am away and he thinks it is the motor. The job does seem daunting under ideal circumstances and near impossible with the boat on a lift. I dont own a trailer, but did find a yard nearby that will haul out, store and return for about 600-700 for a...

    galvanic isolator

I decided early on to eliminate all ac on my boat except the onboard battery charger. At the present time there is no ac going to the bulkhead or cabin. I moved the twist lock ac input from the starboard side to the port side and installed a new galvanic isolator in the battery compartment. I...

    engine lift

additionally after looking at parts diagrams what i thought was the relay is nothing more than a fuse block with those two huge fuses, I felt a resounding click when actuating the lift switch which must have just been referred via the heavy 12 volt wire from the relay, ignorance is bliss i...

    fuel sender ground

Much as I do not want to looks like I may pull the deck panel. Boat is older and probably in need of an inspection is this area thus killing two birds with one stone. fuel sender ground

One of the issues I am trying to fix is the fuel readings at the helm. The main tank reading shows one bar and does not change. The aux shows and accurate reading but takes an excessive amount of time to change. I assumed it was the senders but in testing found otherwise. Shorting the aux...
