    Rigging Tube

Thanks for the response. I have a fuel connection that wraps around the tube so I have 2 shorter tubes. That first part is nice and easy. I had a seized bolt and broke that off. Damn. I also have the older hollow grommet connection to the outboard. I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to...

    Rigging Tube

I'm about to replace my rigging tubes to my engines, they are old and breaking. Has anyone seen a video covering this procedure? I'm going to start today and see how it goes. I'll take some still photos, but I wish there was a YouTube University video. Randy

    Water Impeller Housing

OK, I scraped it out anyway. Thanks for the feedback. As an aside, the pistachio hull made me look all the harder at the previous work.

    Water Impeller Housing

As I'm rebuilding my water pumps on Yamaha F250 & LF250, I noted some rough build up that looks like caulk on the inside of the impeller housing. Both housings have this in the same place. It is not crustyvlike salt, very much like a caulk that was smeared. This has me stumped. Any ideas, is...

Pulled her out and had her Winterized last weekend! :(

I'm with Fishtales and change my 2 every year. I also had water issues from the marina pump and changed everything midyear.

    Tips for trailering Marlin

That was only the emergency chain job to get it 6 blocks. After replacing the broken bolt on the winch and getting a new grade 8 safety xhain, she is back to loading just fine. She will rock back a bit when I pull her out, but with the UHMW plastic on the bunks I can winch her to the stop. If...

    Tips for trailering Marlin

That ring at the base of a post is a suckers bet. I was the sucker. As I was hauling out on a fairly steep ramp a bolt on the winch snapped, putting all the strain on my safety chain, bow to that little ring. Whoops, that ring parted like a wet sandwich. My boat was almost a photo of the...

How do my tanks look? Need some advice.

Are there suitable plastic tanks where corrosion is not a concern? My 2005 Striper had a plastic tank, just wondering about the future for my 2007 tanks.

    Water in One Tank

I'll pull the deck this winter to check on the gaskets. Before pulling the deck I'll put a camera in position to film the opening, then do a normal washdown. That will tell me if water is getting by the inspection plates. Those o rings were slicked up with gly slyde, so I think they are water...

    Water in One Tank

I've had to empty the fuel filter on my port engine twice, and drained a bunch of water out of my racor. This is only happening on my port engine. I run each engine off different tanks. Replaced engine media as well as racor media each time. I've replaced the O rings on the fuel filler caps...

    More weekend projects!

Very nice. I use the cover of my Furuno to put wallets, keys and the like in the overhead bin. Great place for that stuff to stay dry and no chasing it around on my tip toes.

    refrigerating stern 290 Qt cooler

Thanks half hitch. Saturdays trip had 52 albacore. Some folks don't realize Oregon has some great tuna fishing. It is a 12 hour day and the fish need to be cooled quickly. The fish box could be used as a chill tank, then placed in a tote. I need the best care for my clients fish.
