KY Grady, how did you straighten the tweaked guides? I loaded on a very windy day and both mine are tweaked outward. Did it take a hydraulic press or just crowbar inside and some elbow grease?

I'm trying to order shear pins for my bowthruster but do not know the model number of the factory installed BT on my 2007 Marlin. The boat is 90 minutes away. Can another Marlin owner give that information?

To update this thread it was the tilt mechanism, specifically the pot metal universal joint in that mechanism. I replaced the tilt and all is good. Now I have a backup helm. Not a bad thing to have on the shelf.

Two things I got from talking to repair shop: there is a U joint in the tilt mechanism that might seize, or inside the helm itself. I ordered a refurb model and will replace the whole helm & tilt.

I was outside the 3 mile limit so I tried to dump my holding tank. I know there is water and pink fluid in the tank yet the light in the head shows empty. I filled and flushed a bunch of water yet no change. Anyone have this happen? Wondering where the sensor is located and how to change it out.

Mine weighs much like g0atagrip, maybe a bit less. I tow with a 2005 3500 Dodge 4 x 4. I have 2 hills that slow me down to 50 mph. Wish I had a dually. The electric/hydraulic brakes are the only way to go. I'd never tow this without E/H.
