    Bow cover for 205 Freedom

Have a local upholsterer make it for you. You'd need to have someone install the snaps, anyways, if it's not something you would feel comfortable doing it yourself.

A question about washing the fuel tank on a 2020 228

Any plug that would be used would be a standard rubber drain plug - typically with either a T-handle or a snap-handle so it's easily removable. It wouldn't be something that is pushed FULLY inside. In your case, Lucky, it sounds like something got stuck in there. Try using a long drywall...

    Gell coat blisters

I agree with Hookup - they do not look like blisters. Some type of previous repair.

Anyone here install an Atlantic Tower-in a-Box on a 180 Sportsman?

You'll be fine with trailering - hook it up and go :)

    Windshield wiper performance

Is it held tightly to the window? If it is, then replace the wiper blade - being new doesn't mean it didn't sit on a shelf for a long time. If it's not tight to the windshield, take a close look at how it's attached to the motor arm

1989 Grady white overnighter cabin walls rebuild

Great template material... go to HD or Lowes and get a sheet or two of the pink/purple foamboard insulation. It's cheap and easy to cut/sand. When you have your template just right, then cut the final product out of your chosen material. You can tab the foamboard together with glass/epoxy, too.

1986 GW Tournament 19 Wet Transom

Those are pretty good pictures - quite telling. Unfortunately, the prognosis is not as nice as the pictures ;) There's lots of separation of the ply and glass - also appears to be a good amount of swelling. I think you just found your "Winter project". I believe you're in for a "skin the...

    1983 Weekender 241 bow plate.

Yup. Absolutely ridiculous that Grady would use regular steel for this piece. I had the same thing. As noted, it ties the bow cleat to the bow eye making both stronger. I had a local shop make an exact copy out of stainless. FYI, even without this, you can use the bow eye to lift the boat...

    Retainer Netting?

The backs of the seats in my car have a net pocket and was stretched out. The shock cord was secured by being "burned" in place at the top corners and I didn't feel like spending too much time on this project so went even "cheaper" and just used a couple small zip ties at each corner... I...

    Retainer Netting?

Are you able to just replace the old stretch cord that runs along the top edge of the netting with a new stretch cord? You'd have to look at how it's secured at the two top corners.

1983 19' Tournament Aft Floor Question

Johnny, can you better explain - I'm not quite sure what areas you're talking about. Your post title says "aft floor" but then in your description you talk about the bow and say the area where you'd normally be walking is good. But if you're just wondering, in general, about exposed plywood...

    Cleaning Metal items on boat?

All good info above by Partially Tied..... Just one thing to add: The green patina (verdigris) is actually bronze's way of protecting itself (it's the copper in the bronze that does it). Ever seen an old penny left outside... I'm sure you've seen the Statue of Liberty!

Possibly the dumbest question ever asked on GG?

Easiest way to explain is to say "It's just like cars". That's probably where the conversation would end. You can then decide to further explain or not... "But, really, there is no such thing as a model year for an engine - the serial number is all that matters". The main reason that a...

Possibly the dumbest question ever asked on GG?

Sure you have! :) The same thing is exactly what goes on with new cars. You can buy a new car right now and it could be a 2023 model. It sure as heck wasn't made in the future and brought back to the present :)

Possibly the dumbest question ever asked on GG?

That's the way I understand it, too. The "year" of the motor is based on when it was sold (registered), not manufactured. All pertinent information is based on the serial number. I do know, for a fact, that this is how it is with Mercury.

    which prop for a seafarer 228 with a F225?

Seasick... good point about the height of the engine. Being too low wouldn't affect hole shot and low/medium speed much at all. But because of the extra drag it will certainly affect top end. I guess an assumption was made (at least on my part), that the new engine was put on in the same spot...

    which prop for a seafarer 228 with a F225?

You're definitely not going to be going lower -- regardless of whatever that info is about Yamaha propping them wrong - although, ultimately, this falls on the dealer or the customer as the same engine can be used on different boats and may require a different prop. But there's no way you...

    Yam 150 / Grady 180 - Engine temperature

I guess it depends on what you said in the first post. If it's DIFFERENT than where it normally shows at, then that's an indicator that there's a problem. When I read your post, that was the feeling I got. However, if it stays in the same area, time after time, then I would't worry (or reacts...

    Yam 150 / Grady 180 - Engine temperature

The easiest answer is a worn impeller or grooves in the impeller housing/wear plate. I would inspect that. If you're paying someone to do this, just have it done. After that, the fix can get momre costly... cooling passage clogs, etc.
