    Grady white 228g soft spot

I was thinking of ways to do this on my Tournament 22, then I bought the Seafarer, and have never gotten around to doing anything to it. I was thinking about using one piece of plywood, if it was flat, and good contact. If not, maybe cut the piece to size, them cut it into blocks on the table...

2009 330 Pompanette Helm Seat mods

How about a sliding base similar to what is under most helm chair seats? I've never had one with bars, like yours.

    228 transom rod holders?

Bob, what year is your boat, and was there plywood in the transom there? I plan to do 2 Lee 90* behind each seat.

I believe bottom paint comes in white, so you don't have the contrasting colors.

Buying a used Grady White Tournament 192

You won't be happy with 100hp on a 19 Tournament. 150 is as small as I recall seeing

    228 transom rod holders?

LD, are you saying mount that Amarine unit on top of the transom? I think that it would often get in the way. If you have rods on the front of the live well, on top of the transom, and on the back of the transom, that is quite a maze to keep untangled, and out of the way fishing. Why not zero...

    Leaving home for moorage

Trapper said, "I do have access to fresh water wash down", in the original post. Doesn't matter if you are flushing, or washing down, by the time you get to a mooring both are of minimal use.

    Leaving home for moorage

Are you talking about a mooring field, or a wet slip? "I do have access to fresh water wash down", is a little contradictory for a mooring, unless you are washing it at the dock, and then motoring back to a mooring.

    228 transom rod holders?

Mr. and Mrs. Jones are in their late 70s, and go to the doctor together for their annual physicals. Mr. Jones goes in first, and the doctor is going through all of the normal wellness checks. When he ask him how many times he has to go to the bathroom during the night, Mr. Jones says, “No...

    228 transom rod holders?

Yes, it is possible to add them on each side of the live well, but behind the live well you do not have the depth for a standard rod holder. I am referring to zero degree rodholders. I will do something similar to what I did on my tournament 22. Last time I was at the coast I measured, and the...

    330 Express Bilge Pump removal

You can gain a little bit of reach by removing the ring for the hatch. The hole will be slightly larger, but the edges may be sharp.

    330 Express Bilge Pump removal

Is the top black, or dark blue? If the bilge is dry, turn your phone camera on video, tape the phone to a yard stick, go all the way around the pump, and see what you have to work with. I wouldn't disconnect, or cut, anything until I knew if it would pop out of the base. Looks to me like...

    Love my new boat cover

Is that cover just designed for a bigger boat, without covering the motor? Looks like it is straight across the transom on a 24-26' boat.

Any chance anyone has the templates for a modern 228? I want to install seadek.

ocdansar- I see at least 3 large Sea-Dek logos on your boat. Do you get a discount for each one, or have any say in how large they are, or where they go?

    Covers and Antennaes UPDATE

I always lay my antenna back on the hardtop, where it sticks out about 4 feet, or so, to go under my canal bridge. But thinking about it for a cover, the mount is over the electronics box in the front, so it may be possible to lay it forward, and get a better downward angle. I'm pretty sure I...

    SeaV2 Seafarer with I/O?

I would read this thread, and see if it applies to your engine set up. Apparently catalytic converters on newer engines can raise the price of replacing manifold parts on some to prohibitively expensive levels...
