JRyan, do you have a 2005 without either a wash down, or a transom shower? You don't need another hole, if you have a live well thru hull. My 2000 has the freshwater transom shower, which I also refer to as the washdown, so no thru hull for that. And no pressure, no volume, so it's a lousy...

That's not the transom cap, that's the wave gate. The cap is the aluminum covering the top of the transom notch, where the engine is mounted. That area is prone to leak, and eventually rot the transom. It should have been fiber glassed, instead of covered up with a metal strip I have a '93...

I have never used an adjustable speed router, didn't know they made them. To me, bit speed is your friend for a smooth cut. The key is finding the right speed to push the router. Hard to hold that router perfectly flat, with that heavy battery so high up. Wobble may be some of your problem...
