    Trailering Random Question

A dealer was towing a 43' Invicible with tripps on it up to my storage place a few years back. The trailer was short but they used it anyway. A few miles up the Parkway on a clear dry day they went off the road and into the trees. No one was hurt but boat was totaled. Believed to be caused by...

    Compression test readings-work order

I fed OpenAI the questions from this thread. I'm sure that's why it looks like its repeating it back. This is a generic AI chat. It was not trained to answer specific questions about Yamaha outboard motors. It didn't find anything you couldn't find searching the internet yourself. It just did...

    Trailering Random Question

First question I would ask is if the trailer is level when attached to the truck. If not you have more or less weight on the front/rear axel and it will affect sway. May need a different hitch drop. Beyond that it's tongue weight. Move the boat forward/back, axels forward/back. Trailer dealers...

    Compression test readings-work order

I thought it would be fun to see what all this AI noise is about.... Hookup1: What should the pressure be for a compression check on a yamaha 250 hp outboard OpenAI: The specific pressure reading for a compression check on a Yamaha 250 hp outboard can vary depending on the exact model and year...

    Compression test readings-work order

I assume that work order was paid for by the current owner. Must not have thought the differences in compression numbers would not be a problem. Now you have various opinions and have to figure out who is paying for this additional investigative work. Compression re-test, bore scope and...

    Compression test readings-work order

Maybe a few members will venture an opinion. Helpful but I would try for an expert opinion. Find a mechanic that works on a lot of engines. Easier said than done though.

Anyone using Digital Audio Broadcast DAB?

DAB doesn't appear to be that popular in US. I printed out the SIRIUS channel guide. For the $5/month I'll check out some more channels.

Anyone using Digital Audio Broadcast DAB?

Just upgraded stereo to Fusion MS-RA770 unit. Had a MS-RA70. Works fine. WIFI somewhat useless. But it supports DAB which I have no experience with. Anyone have experience with it? I've has SIRIUS on-and-off for a year now and just not happy with it. Going to turn it off when $5/month promo...

You may want to start by asking GW Customer Service. I have one that I use. I'll check for a label but don't remember seeing one.

    Can this be repaired?

Update your profile to include your location. Maybe someone will help you out. If you are a handy guy and willing to learn maybe. As others have said it may not be a bargain. Hate to see you start out with a problem boat.

    Barrier coat?

With Interlux Interprotect barrier coat it's important to follow the re-coat times and number of coats to create a watertight surface before bottom painting. Sort of like applying layers of overlaping/interlocking fish scales. Re-coat times important too. Needs to re-applied before the epoxy...

    Can this be repaired?

If you haven’t bought the boat DON’T. Have a surveyor or fiberglass shop look at it. Given where the damage is you are likely going to need a transom rebuild. It certainly can be patched up but I think there is a lot of work to do inside.

Advice on a Soft Spot in Cabin Bulkhead

The wood under my helm (vertical speaker board and trim panel) were melamine covered particle board. Ends not sealed and swollen. I replaced mine with Seafoam Starboard. Color match is good. The piece in your photo looks like the same material. Under the helm I would make a new piece of trim...

    Where to put the phone

It would have been better if I had space in front of me but it was all used up. Point being is that it doesn't interfere with the compass.
