Replacing failed Guest Charge Pro 2722-B on-board battery charger

I have a hard time understanding that setup, parallel batteries with a separate charger feed to each one. I am an electrical engineer although it has been quite a while since I have been in that business so I am probably not up to snuff with the newest technology. That said, the Promariner web...

    208 Adventure Top end

If you have a fuel delivery issue and I don't know if you do, it is possible that the motor will run too lean if you try more throttle than a troll. The lean mix can cause motor damage. I am saying that you shouldn't ignore the problem and at a minimum should pull the spark plugs, note what...

Replacing failed Guest Charge Pro 2722-B on-board battery charger

The batteries are either in parallel or they are not. That is to say that the batteries would be hardwired to each other for parallel service. Electrically that looks like one battery with twice the capacity ( a little simplified but good enough for my argument), Since they are wired in common...

    Anchor Locker Door

In the 'worst ' case, you can use the old lid to make a mold for a new hatch. A fiberglass shop could do that. If you are not too picky, a hatch could be fabricated using Starbioard. The color probably won't match but that approach would be a lot less expensive than having a mold and a lid made...

Starboard Low Oil Alarm - Where to Start

I think the oil levels and trim indicators may have been misinterpreted. There is no display of oil level other than low. Part of the confusion is also the fact that when the gauges are powered up, they do a self test and display all bars and icons just so you know the display is working.

What the heck did I get myself into?

How is that 232 working out. With a few small concerns, I like that model a lot. In my opinion, buying a boat, sight unseen is as dopey as buying a house like that. It's madness!

What the heck did I get myself into?

It's mid July and while many folks may be thinking about the new school year, this is the time when I start to think about the boat market pre winter season. I think we all know that in 4 season climates that the end of summer is one of the best times in general to look for a boat.( Start of...

    208 Adventure Top end

Luckydude, Thanks for the endorsement but I am not an expert by any means. Since I have had a 208 for 15 years and do all my own work ( that's getting harder these days) including the work on the SX motor, I do have a decent knowledge of that package. I will also admit that I am often wrong in...

    208 Adventure Top end

The second printout shows that the motor never made WOT revs. It has a small amount of time in the 4 to 5000 range but that could have been 4001:) I am hoping it is something simple like a loose plug wire but I am also concerned that the problem may have existed from birth. I think you should...

    How to remove birds

Stopping gulls at the dock is hard . Eliminate any food if you can and that often means fish parts from cleaning fish. If you do need to dump fish scraps, get a 5 gal bucket and cut out the bottom. Then float the pail ( now a cylinder) in the water with some line to tie it off. Dump the fish...

    Polishing Lewmar 22lb Anchor

Basically, you need to polish it but that means different things depending on how bad the finish has gotten. If there is heavy oxidation, my first step would be to buff with a wire wheel or wire cup on a grinder. Continue with finer grades of wheels and eventually get to buffing with a felt or...
