    330 prop slip w/ f350s

i do not know. is that a certain? using wot the calc is 19%. but since the 3500 is optimum cruise, shouldn't that be it? ron

    330 prop slip w/ f350s

i was reading an older copy of saltwater which had the formula to calculate prop slip. i don't have my actual numbers, so i used the yamaha performance bulletin. at 3,500 rpm, the prop slip calculates at 30%! the article said 10% was optimum. anybody with the same rig do their...

    Marlin Thruster advice

i think the lewmar is being used on the 360/366. if you get good reports on the installer, it is probably better to have a local guy you can run back to than one that would have to come up from the south. ron

    helm a/c

there is a second compressor in the helm port wing for the helm a/c (330). it is right behind the fold-down seat. the intake is there and the output is up by the cup-holder. how about a couple larger helm fans? won't get you cool, but it will keep the air moving. i'm looking at the...

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

this is exactly what happens when you read all the gw trashing on tht: you start believing it yourself. :D i don't think anyone would blame you for getting worked up; it is counterintuitive that you could actually move a boat while in its rack. i'm very happy that everything worked out...

    Marlin Thruster advice

i think the factory is using sidepower and lewmar (mine is sidepower). vetus is obviously top notch. i would make sure you have an ignition protected thruster. the price sounds pretty good, but only from what i have read in the past. it would probably be a good idea to check with gw to see...

    New Boat Purchase Questions

don't focus on a "name" different dealers call it different names. focus on individual items included with your purchase. ron

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

that's what i was thinking. i'm not saying the whole boat lifted. i was speculating that maybe it was "balanced" and the force caused movement. kinda like trim tabs. port tab down, port transom up, starboard bow down. just a thought. ron

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

any way you were actually "rocking" the boat (no pun intended)? if it was balanced just so, i can easily see moving the boat with a little force. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. ron

    New Boat Purchase Questions

EVERYTHING is negotiable. just don't be a "jerk," which would probably turn the dealer off. approach it in a cordial business manner and you WILL strike a deal that both you and the dealer are satisfied with. new leftovers will probably be your deepest discount, although you should be able...

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

you should make sure you are connected right to eddie rowe on this. also, sorry, but i still don't get it. you were able to move a 5 ton boat, on the hard, with hand pressure. still can't picture, but make sure you clearly explain to gw. also, did you get a certification that there was no...

    Marlin Transom flex.......Not flexing

i hope before you make this your last post, you'll explain exactly what you experienced. for the life of me, i can't picture what you are describing. did the liner separate 3" from the hull? did you move the entire boat 3" with just your hand? i can't figure out what you meant. ron
