    Tab pump location

just in the ability to get at the pump for install and service. when you use tabs, you slowly make adjustments. i'm sure there is a limit as to how far the pump can be from the tabs before it's pressure will dissipate in the lines, but i don't think that is a problem on our boats. ron

    Tab pump location

reaction time for what?? how fast do you want to change the attitude of the boat anyway? my 232 had it below the starboard berth against the bulkhead. you can page thru some manuals on the gw site to see where it is located on various models. ron

    a/c helm

you can probably put it right where the factory does. give gw a call and see if the area is clear on the 2003 model year. ron

chet, did you buy the vhf yet? this may be a good application for one of the black box units. bury the box inside the console and only have the mic/control hanging on the helm. ron

    Commissioning a winterized 33 Express

where are you located? should be pretty much the same as your sailfish, but since you didn't do the winterizing, you should make sure you find out exactly what was done so you can "undo" it. for instance, FP recommends removing the impeller when winterizing the genset. if that was actually...

I am finding it hard to believe

marketing 101. believe half of what you read and none of what you hear. personally, i focus on things i can touch and feel, build quality, customer service, etc, etc. we had an '02 gulfstream and you have to get to the swim platform over the transom, we didn't have any problems with it...

Took Factory Tour last Friday - WOW! - Incredible!

i'm only going to chime in on this one. gw did not tell me that they thought the composite stringers were better than wood. contrary, they said they could not use wood in the larger boats because it would add too much weight. i was specifically concerned with composite stringers and asked how...

    Humminbird 957, Raymarine A57D, Furuno fcv 620?

you're kidding, right? this has been going on for a while now. at one point garmin was bidding, but they seem to have dropped out. there is nothing saying they are going out of business, just nothing saying they are continuing strong. just make sure all your software is up to date...

    Humminbird 957, Raymarine A57D, Furuno fcv 620?

    Thru Hull Transducer question

Re: In Hull i had a p79 in the gulfstream and an m260 in the 330. both went to garmin headunits. i had no problems (other than the summer time issue with the gsd22 auto range function, which was fixed in a subsequent sw update), but i'm in water generally under 250'. the b60 noted above...

    Thru Hull Transducer question

as far as gw, the hulls on gw's below the water line are solid glass. you will not be exposing the hull to water intrusion into a core like some other mfg's. your biggest concern should be making a tight access hole and sealing PROPERLY. good luck ron

    Radar installation

there are literally dozens of units out there now. i suggest you make your way to a west marine superstore and look at the displays. i know the one in brick nj has a very impressive layout. also, the mfg websites will give a lot of dimension info. ron
