    Transom transducer on Tournament 197

Hi - I have GW 208 with an outboard, so I can't comment on location for your setup. But, I did mount my Garmin transducer on "Stern Saver". Basically, a piece of starboard that is mechanically attached to the transom with an epoxy. Had it on there over a year, 130 hours of run time and no issues.

Trailer Winch strap Orientation on 208 Adventurer?

Thanks guys! I park the boat and loosen all the straps. That said, there is very little bounce when I unhook the strap. I also uses another strap the snugs the boat down to the trailer to eliminate bounce. I'll take a closer look this weekend.

Trailer Winch strap Orientation on 208 Adventurer?

I have a 20 year old Trail Rite trailer, made in Santa Ana CA, set up the same way. Looks like I will have flip over my strap as well. I was never able to winch in that last inch, I wonder if this flip will help.

Getting the most for the least on my new, old Grady...

HT is right - I do miss working on and maintaining my old 2S. And if you don't need the extra range, and your motor is running fine don't invest. My 2S lost a cylinder and I invested about $15k- $17K on my new 4 stroke, I also had a bunch of other work done. When I bought the motor, I...

Getting the most for the least on my new, old Grady...

Hi Moose - good to hear that the seller took care of that maintenance! Sounds like he took great care of the boat in general. My boat has a polyethylene fuel tank and there is no hatch to remove. If you don't smell fuel, I would not mess with it - other may have have more experience here...

Getting the most for the least on my new, old Grady...

My 2 cents, I have a '99 208. I would try to dial in that Johnson and run the boat with the current power for some time. You want to make sure this boat works well for you. I would also check the Transom Cap or Bang plate where the motor sits. There are lots of threads on this forum that...

    Loaded and ready to go!

You are still dialing her in and will get this oil stuff figured out. Overall, I am sure you got a great sense of the boat! 18 hours on a flat calm day - that's awesome!

    Loaded and ready to go!

You should have no problem going out that far in your boat if you have experience and all is good mechanically. Since I got my Grady my average trip is 80-100 miles RT. This was also the 1st year I got myself a PLB, since it is mostly myself and my son fishing. My favorite part of each trip...
