    Modern 228 helm seats?

I have some problem with my feet, it hurts to have them below waist level, the pain instantly goes away when I prop my feet up. The more I am on my feet, the more it hurts. It's pretty unpleasant. I love to fish, I *love* to fish, so I put up with the pain but there is going to come a time...

    Modern 228 helm seats?

You are my wife's new best friend! She looked at those $1875 seats and was willing to go along with it because she knows how my feet hurt, but she wasn't thrilled. When I told her about your fix, she lit up like a christmas tree. Happy wife, happy life..... Thanks again.

    What does this mean?

Perhaps I haven't been paying attention enough, but my experience here hasn't included any annoying people. Don't know what it is about Gradys, they seem to attract decent people. Now my local fishing forum is a different kettle of fish, I ignore people there all the time, a lot of salty dudes...

    Modern 228 helm seats?

Well go you guys, I can slide it forward and make it face the other seat. You just saved me $4K. I owe you both a beer and more! Thanks!

    Modern 228 helm seats?

Yeah but not the way you want, they don't swivel to face each other, they swivel away from each other. It's a tight helm. The swivel is only so you can sit in them facing backwards or forwards. I want to sit in both, the only way to do that is have arms that swing up.

    Modern 228 helm seats?

Who makes those? I like mine but I'd prefer a version where the arms tip up, I want to sit sideways in them with my feet up on the other one.

    2020 Suzuki 9.9 kicker question

Coming around to close this topic, short answer is Mr Idiot (that would be me) strikes again. So when I started out with the horse trough I would put 3 pallets under the trough to raise it way up for the kicker and that worked but I got lazy. I noticed that the water intake was way under water...

Why are the trim tabs on the 228 so small?

You are correct that it doesn't add more hull because, well, there is no hull under the bracket. That wasn't my point. My point was that the bracket puts all the weight 2+ feet further back which is going to push the stern down more (just ask any 226 owner why they like their boat). With all...

Why are the trim tabs on the 228 so small?

I measured mine and they are 9x12 which Bennett's website says are for a 14-18 foot boat. Given that the engine is out on a 2+ foot platform, that makes the 228 more like a 24-25 foot boat from the tabs point of view. I've got 12x18 tabs coming, gonna see if that smooths out my a ride a...

Dodge Ram ecodiesel for towing a 228?

Thanks for all the replies (and yes, disc brakes on all for wheels, surge style system, not electric). Now I have to go find one  Thanks again.

Dodge Ram ecodiesel for towing a 228?

I'm a chevy guy but my flatbed gets 13mpg empty, not towing. Ouch. Time to think about an upgrade with $7/gallon diesel. And I want to dedicate the Chevy to being a quick attack fire truck (425 gallons, 160PSI pump, etc, I live in an extreme fire danger zone). I was looking at the 3.0L dodge...

    2020 Suzuki 9.9 kicker question

If you just start it and let it run, it never pees and eventually overheats. Same in tub and the ocean. Same in neutral and in gear. Revving it up does not make it pee. I can make pee for a second or two by pushing water in from my garden hose but then it stops and it never pees strongly, it...

    2020 Suzuki 9.9 kicker question

I have a 50 gallon horse trough, I flush with that. So it is like it is in the ocean.

    2020 Suzuki 9.9 kicker question

Yep, tried that, tried compressed air that made it through the system, I had it in water and it forced bubbles out the bottom. I've ordered an impeller and am going to replace that and see. It's been a while since I've done one so I'll be watching youtube videos. A buddy told me that if the...

Talk to me about the wings on a Canyon, specifically the 271

Both of those are no longer made, right? The sailfish is what I'd buy if I could buy new but apparently Grady doesn't care about cold weather boats, too bad. I'm really leery of used boats, been burned once. If either of those were built in the last 5-10 years and I could find a cherry one...

Talk to me about the wings on a Canyon, specifically the 271

I just couldn't get over .8-1mpg. For some reason, 2mpg is fine in my brain, less than 1mpg is not. It's a double wammy because right now I can trailer to a distant harbor to chase whatever fish, but if I get a big boat, everything is going to be out and back from the same harbor. I'd easily...

Talk to me about the wings on a Canyon, specifically the 271

As you guys might remember, I was looking for a better, faster, more comfortable ride home in the slop than my 228 can give me. We don't need to revisit all the slow down advice, that wasn't helpful, I have health problems that make it a lot more pressing for me to get home fast. What prompted...

    Trailering question

I have something similar, I just forgot to use it. My wiring harness is flakey, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

    Trailering question

My wiring harness was not sending the reverse signal so I backed up and the trailer danced all over the parking lot. 4 disk brakes, it's a high end trailer. I've looked and not seen any leaks, I park it on concrete, if it were leaking I'd see it. So it is a puzzle but so long as it works...
