    Tournament 205 Trailer Recommendations

When I owned a 205, it sat on a Continental CTA-2150B. This was a 5000 capacity tandem with brakes on both axles. It fit the boat perfectly. I see many boats in NC with brakes on only one axle. Not sure what the law is there, but here in GA and in FL the law is the same...anything over 3K...

On the West Coast picked up a boat on the East Coast and trailered it back!

It looks great....not sure why the :( Welcome to the South....we get those rainstorms every day around 3 in the afternoon. Yesterday, a microburst tore across Lake Lanier and destroyed a bunch of docks, broke some boats loose, etc... Good for my canvas guy who will be busy starting today...

    Bought a 2000 Seafarer 228

Yamaha never made a 225 HPDI with a 25” shaft. I’m guessing you have an OX66. If so, the vibration at 1500 RPM is normal. Those engines idle on 4 of the 6 cylinders and the other 2 don’t start to fire until around 1600-1700 rpm. I’ve owned 3 of them and they all had a vibration at the top...

    A question about trailers

The good news is you know your backup solenoid is working. It did exactly what it was supposed to.

    Time for a new trailer

I step from the bow to the spare tire, then down onto the frame. Just be careful if your spare has a spindle, because it spins.

    A question about trailers

I just enjoyed lunch with JJMag here in Atlanta as he passed through. He got the boat...he got the Owens trailer...had a great few days in Savannah but the hurricane has chased him west. It's a great looking boat....last seen headed north on I-75 toward Chattanooga. I suggested the Tenn River...

    '96 228 electronics options

I've gotten rid of the door on the last 5 or 6 GWs I've owned. Always went flush mount. Even with the best of springs and hinges, the door tends to flop down when you hit a wake.

    Buying a new 208 Adventure

    Prospective buyers

    That’s a mid 90s 228 at best. I owned a 98 and it had the new/current style windows. $12-$14K depending on condition

Oh the places we have gone

I too have run the "Grand Canyon of the South" from Chattanooga to Nickajack. 38 miles and it's beautiful. Friendly tip - make the run in October when the leaves are changing.

In the market for a new 208 Adventure

I owned a 208. Great, heavy walk around boat that started the entire walk around revolution. If you are getting a hardtop, then a 200 is essential. As others have said, the cabin is small. It’s also narrow between the pedestals. I ended up removing the seat arms to be able to navigate...

FLORIDA TITLE SAYS MAKE NTL FOR MY 2002 GRADY WHITE MARLIN?

NTL is the uniformly assigned code for Grady White. I'm looking at the "former" Florida Title for my boat. Right above the name of the Registered Owner, is a box that says "Odometer Status or Vessel Manufacturer or OH Use". In that box it should say "Grady-White Boats Inc." Find another...

    Water spots on windshield

I bought some water spot remover on Amazon. 3D eraser gel. Easy to use and it worked wonders.

Sailfish factory changes through the years? What do you know.

Sailfish was a 252 until it became a 272. It became a SeaV2 far earlier than 1998. Pretty sure it was around ‘91. The last hull to go to the SeaV2 was the 180, which replaced the 175 and came out in ‘98.

See you all out on the Bay

Flynn Marine Transport. Great People. Did it come with the trailer? Most transporters - particularly that distance - will want to haul it on their own trailer.

    Towing

I towed my 228, and 226 with a 5.3 Tahoe and a 6.2 Yukon. Both did fine. Towing my 225 with an F-150 now. No issues.

    VHF antenna

I may be the only person in America who has had good luck with the solderless Shakespeare connectors. I know that some experts think it’s blasphemy not to solder a connector on, but I’ve found that - properly installed - they work great.
