    Yeti-Set-Go!

Didn't know what to think, but turns out to be a nice addition for my needs. So far using it for food, drinks, and stashing what others bring on too. There were 5 of us out today, didn't feel like any of us were fighting it to get around. Will sit with it a while "as is". Maybe it will switch...

    Yeti-Set-Go!

Bought a Yeti Tundra 105 to keep on boat deck. Will see if it will be workable. I wanted to spend a ridiculous amount of money lol. It's heavy enough to not move around on its own is the real reason why I took the plunge. If it gets in the way too much, well I will use it camping. Need to...

    228 Baitwell Aerator Addition

New thru hull installed for live well drain, and new drain elbow for the 1 1/2" drain hose. Used a Dremmel for enlarging both installs since a hole saw would have done a lot of damage spinning everywhere since there were holes previously cut out. Taking some friends out fishing tomorrow, so I...

    228 Baitwell Aerator Addition

Ordered a 1.5 drain and stainless thru hull today. Picked up hose/clamps at local West Marine. Again, good catch I really appreciate the help. Already removed the old drain fitting on the tank, this is an easy change out at least. And now the new drain can accommodate the 1.5" overflow drain...

    228 Baitwell Aerator Addition

Good catch Hoon! I'm guessing that I have to change the thru hull fitting/hose size for the discharge to accommodate the overflow as well? I will verify the existing hose size for the live well drain tomorrow. Fill is as you say, 1.5" Thanks~

    228 Baitwell Aerator Addition

Really nice progress today with the help of my neighbor on a few things that made 2 sets of hands easier. Installed pickup and strainer, along with mounting hardware. tightened nuts down in a star pattern. Then added the new sea cock and pump. No way to plumb the 2 hoses during this process...

    228 Baitwell Aerator Addition

Finally moving forward after enough parts showed up. Cut a 3/4" hole in the hull, got a layer of Marine Tex on the section where the old transducer came out. Will sand and gel coat down the road. Drilled holes for the bronze screws that help support the new pick up. Installed new thru hull...

    Heading out in a bit

It's a new muscle you will learn to tune people out and do your own thing. Most experienced boaters understand and will give you space, it seems like the one's that try and give advice aren't the ones that are driving the boat they go out on. It's an ego thing for sure.

    Heading out in a bit

Good news for sure!! Bad news: once the shift engages it either is working or not, has nothing to do with rpm's on throttle. Hopefully it is a Russ fatigue issue. Enjoy Port Aransas, used to take our Boy Scout Troop in Austin fishing there once a year and camped on Goose Island State Park.

    Flushing Outboard Engines

Engine manufacturers recommend static flush. I would say flushing for at least 8 mins each engine. 2-4 minutes is not enough time to break down the deposits in my opinion. The other important thing is that they are still warm when you do it. Here is a good thread to read about deposit build up...

    Bay Area Fish Report

Windy in areas of the bay, but Lite Tackle did a great job keeping the ride soft for his passengers. The areas that were protected from the Golden Gate funnel were nice and pretty calm.
