The Salty Dog Updated 4/30--Got 2 questions??? Latches and Charger??

I measured the old letters and the the capital letter was 7 inches. I figured it would be close to the same but this new one is a bit bigger. I think you can see it from Texas when I splash it!

The Salty Dog Updated 4/30--Got 2 questions??? Latches and Charger??

Put the new decals on today, came out pretty good. Have to chase a few bubbles, waiting for it to warm up a bit. Next up polish and wax the helm, cockpit and outside the walk around. The add all my gear and splash it! The only thing is the Forest Green in the boat name was a bit darker than I...

Nice job guys, I had an old 1987 Mako 17 with wood all over it, when finished it looked real nice.

    Okay, she's here.. but.. lol

I'm not a fiberglass expert but I would just put some Marine Tex in the chips, cracks, and transom and be done with it.

Finding someone to build a dang hard top is a pita

Man that seems expensive, you may want to ask over at the HULL TRUTH there may be a fabrication shop that does nice work in the area you're just not finding.

    Color match gelcoat

So let me get this straight, I could use Marine Tex to fill in the gouge/scratch, then color match the gel coat to blend it in nice? I am a novice when it comes to fiberglass. You would use the color tint kit from Spectrum to do this? Anyone have a photo of a patch they did on their boat?

    New to me 2001 226

When I rent a place in LBI, I usually bring the boat. Had the Mako in Haglers for 2 weeks 2 years ago on our first ride out of the marina, my wife asked me if there are any sharks in the bay, not 30 seconds later a big fin swam by the boat!. I said I think we need a bigger boat!

    New to me 2001 226

Forget the arm rests replacements, do a search here, very expensive if you can find them. Someone used a small sock and it actually looked good. I believe the dealer has the striping. I just took mine all off and I'm replacing it with a different color. I ordered it from Boat US website. Good...

    My Other Boat

No thrusters ,we use the throttle. When we did the demo before we bought it, we pulled a jet ski right into the boat from the bow. It's pretty cool.

    My Other Boat

Yes, 1 1500 gallon per minute pump and 2 discharges. It has a bow door that lays flat and you can walk off it or drive an atv on it. We used it to put a brush fire out on Bannermans Island. Stretched handlines off the bow.
