Anyone know who supplied the windows for the cabin sides to GW back in '93? I pulled mine out for resealing and would like to get new weatherstripping for them. Figured I could try the manufacturer before getting raped at the dealer....

What about the fuel system on the '85? Has it been replaced? If not, you're on borrowed time. Figure a tank replacement cost of $10/gal + the cost of new fill, vent and supply lines. If it were me, I wouldn't even be looking at the Offshore...

Amsoil Synthetic Marine Gear Lube or Merc. Premium Plus in the lower unit. Yamaha or Racor 3213 for the water separator.

Part of the problem with Starboard is expansion and contraction with changes in temperature. You can't/shouldn't cut it for an exact fit like you can with ply. As for it's strength, I think it would probably be fine in this application because the load on it with be in the vertical direction...

Leave the bad unit in there (re-seal it if leaking) and spend your money on a Northstar fuel flow meter instead. Lots more functionality and once calibrated it will tell you how much fuel you actually have left...as long as you remember to reset the amount of fuel in the tank when you gas up...

Depends on the year of the 232 and year/drivetrain of the Silverado. A new 1500 HD should be able to tow pretty much any 232. Even an non-HD 5.3 1500 could pull one from the late 80s/early 90s.

How long do you plan to keep the boat? If it's less than say 5 years, I wouldn't do either. In that instance, I would find a used 200 to 250 OX66 and bolt that sucker on. If you are going to keep it long enough to warrant dropping some good coin, expect to pay $12,000 or so for a new 200...
