    2014 F250 XA shutting off

It's easier to use a fuel pressure gauge to see if the motor isn't getting gas. When you ran on the separate tank, where did you connect it to the motor. Also answer this question: Is the on the motor gas filter a clear bowl? If so, remove it and reinstall making sure that the rim of the bowl...

I wouldn't spend time on ohming the sensors. f they were bad, an alarm would be posted. The info is a tad different now. The even is not limited to a specific rpm and the event is not in limp mode. Confirm that when the motor shuts down, the alarm horn is blarring. I have to research but I...

hmmmm. If you pulled out the kill lanyard with the motor running, the motor would stop and the alarm would sound. A bad kill switch is a possibility but I guess Disconnecting sensors is not a valid test in some cases since an open or shorted (bypassed) condition is not a valid state for some...

The tank on the motor is the main tank. The external bigger tank is the Remote tank. Am I correct in assuming you activated the Remote tank float? I think at this point as Dennis alluded to is that you probably need to use the diagnostic winky blinky light although I am not sure if that is...

Just to cover all bases, how did you determine that the fill rate for the oil tank was good?

Some how my brain made me look up a 205 and not the 225. Dennis, you are correct, 250HP max rating.

    What HP Johnson is this?

The stern may sit low with the extra weight.

The ECU will post an error condition for a sensor out of spec as well as a sensor reading that has a valid reading that indicates an alarm condition. In other words a sensor that is disconnected can generate an alarm as can a sensor that is shorted. I don't know the specifics of your model motor...

The max HP rating should be on the capacity decal at the helm

I already explained how to check for that condition, refer to previous posts. If the filling rate is less than the consumption rate, the main tank will slowly empty. By the way, what wire did you bypass?

If either low oil or high temp, the tach if the LCD round type, would display the alarm source. If analog gauges, the info will not be immediately available.

    Honda 250 taking a bath

A quick look at specs said that the max hp for that 2005 hull was 225 hp. If so, your motor may be an issue as far as insurance goes. The Honda 250 weighs about 600 to 615 pounds and may be heavier than the original motor. So the questions is whether the boat and motor sit low to start with...

    Honda 250 taking a bath

Still not enough data.. For example, if the boat always acted that way and the motor is a 2005, then after 15 years, I don't thing there is an issue.

    Gulfstream 232 bilge pump/switch

True he float switch probably was stuck but unless you left the battery switch on BOTH, a constant running bilge pump should only run down one battery ( or battery bank).

    Honda 250 taking a bath

Were you or any other folks hanging over the stern to see where the motor sat when getting om plane?: Did you have a fullish tank of gas? How many persons were with you? My point is that there can be lots of variables. I can explain why this may be a normal situation or I can scare you with...

    Marlin outboard flushing question

I find that the Melnor quick connects last two, maybe three seasons before the internal metal springs corrodes. They are cheap enough though to buy extras as spares.

Please note that the following info is valid for a 2002 SX200. I do not have a SX 250 manual. There aren't that many things that can cause an alarm. I believe there is one temp sensor and two thermo switches. All three can be tested by following the steps in the service manual but you can sort...

Seeking advice for cushion replacement for 1998 Adventure 208

Replacing the entire seat could be less expensive than having cushions made. There some issues though. Off the shelf seats with cushions will probably be white, not the Grady off white. Maybe that isn't an issue. Those seat sliders if original probably are not in good shape. There are plastic...

Replacment hinges and painting trim tabs

My experience with Chinese electronic box hinges is that they do not use high grade stainless hinge pins or springs. As a result, their durability is less than the OEM parts. That said, even the OEMs have a limited lifespan at least cosmetically when exposed to a lot of sunlight.

Replacment hinges and painting trim tabs

hmmmmm. I guess I need to change the types of coatings I suggested:( Or maybe he just needs to add sacrificial anodes to the tabs. Or maybe just a can of rustoleum paint for metal. Assuming the tabs are original and 23 or 24 years old, they don't look too bad.
