Daves Trailer Sales and Venture Trailers WARNING!

While an unfortunate situation, the trailer has likely performed as intended unless the tongue tube was the wrong thickness and overlooked in manufacturing. The trailer is likely engineered to have an inexpensive, easily identifiable, and ductile failure for the owner to identify before...

    New grady model?

With the profit margins on these, they can sell 4 and all of the tooling, engineering, and manufacturing costs will be paid for. Not a single owner will visit this site and give a rat's a$$ what we think. What I wonder more about is who will want one of these in 10 years. The maintenance and...

    Looking to purchase 2005/2006 Gulfstream

MB, If you add 400 lbs for the 6 cylinder 200's and the steel trailer, you aren't far off. That was a crazy amount of weight for a 23 footer, but if you are stocked for hard core fishing with everything maxed out, I could see you getting there. I run light by comparison and never run full...

    Looking to purchase 2005/2006 Gulfstream

Hull: 4600 Twins: 1000 Hardtop: 300 Batteries: 150 Fuel: 900 Triaxle trailer (typically a tandem is plenty for a Gulfstream): 1700 Water: 100 Gear: 500 and that's a lot of gear Total: 9250 lbs maxed out with high...

    Source for stripes?

SSM didn't have what I needed, but was willing to help me find a substitute.

    Source for stripes?

Will do, but it might be a while. I can barely get my right arm to horizontal after surgery and 7 weeks of healing and PT. But I'll get there eventually!

    Source for stripes?

I called multiple dealers including local. All made an effort to find something for me, but only Tri-state had anything close to the photo I showed above. $1.78/ft

    376 Fuel Burn

Considering trip 425's are 0.92 mpg and they aren't much different in efficiency compared to the 350's, my guess is 0.8-0.9. It's only a guess.

    Source for stripes?

I got the quote for 30'. For what I need the price is steep. For someone redoing one side of the boat, it is a no brainer. In his quote he also mentioned the individual stripe options. I might just do that considering only the gold stripe is damaged. Laying it out could be tough, but I'll...

    Source for stripes?

Waiting for a return quote from hullstripes.com. He has an excellent site that allows for custom colors. Minimum order is 30'. My only concern at this point is color matching. I'm not sure what colors he has that matches the Grady navy blue and gold. I'll post updates.

    Source for stripes?

Uh, oh. You done it! o_O Big brother watches this website. Don't be surprised if the GW dealer PR police contacts you. I'm not kidding either.

    Source for stripes?

No, I have not. I'm roughly 0-5 with my local dealer for being able to help with things even more basic than this, but I might get lucky. GW almost always tells me to call the dealer = chasing my tail.

    Source for stripes?

I need 9' of stripes for a 2005 270. The ebay guy doesn't carry the profile below. Anyone know of another source or dealer who might have a good selection?

Who do you have your boat insured through?

"Although it may be tempting to request a higher value than the market is, you pay for that in higher premiums." Right. Considering I have never had a claim, I'm not one to throw money at a low probability "what if" occurance. I look at it as the $ I save by having a slightly lower replacement...

Who do you have your boat insured through?

Shame on me for not doing my due diligence, but reading this thread got me thinking. Some industries use terminology that logically seems to mean one thing, when in fact it means something else. I have assumed agreed value means what the asset is valued at if a claim is made. If for instance a...

New 1996 Grady White Islander 268 with twin 200 V6 Mercs

Don't sweat it Pete. I'm confident the funk that will eventually grow in that compartment won't complain about having to look at your air voids!;)

    Gas before or after storage

Maybe one of our resident chemists can chime in on this one, but I would us caution running a tank low, but not empty with e10. A lot of condensation with a little e10 could cause phase separation even if treated. Topping off in the spring does nothing to rid the tank of the pure ethanol sitting...

Who do you have your boat insured through?

Progressive. Free towing is a nice perk. Needed 2x in 10 years. Always with a new to me boat that hasn't been 100% debugged in year 1.
