    Freedom 255 rigging tubes

On my 228, two of the tubes are on the starboard side. I don’t think any of mine are easily in your line of sight so that’s why you are probably not seeing them.

    2021 Adventure 208 Build

That’s really close to what I measured on my 2000 228. The 1/4in seems on the thicker side though. Maybe newer models are more recessed than how mine is. I can see mine being just under 1/4in if you include the gasket/ rubber seal thatis on the backside

    2021 Adventure 208 Build

I have a 2000 228 but below are my measurements - Actual Opening: 18.5x7 - Compartment Lid: 19.25x 7-7/8 - My Panel: 20-7/16 x 9.25 Just a note, the opening of that compartment looked like it changed between 2000 and 2004. Mine has a consistent 3/8in lip and then it changed to have a...

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

I guess my recent fears/ concerns are real. I just replaced my old gps/ Fishfinders but left my Furuno 1712 and Furuno RSB 0087 as they work great and didn’t want to replace them this season. So, based on your feedback, does that mean it will no longer work? Looks like it was supposed to...

    Motor bracket vs transom mounted

Very interesting as when I was looking last year, I probably saw 4-5 226s for every 1 228...You aren't the first person saying this as someone told me the same thing a few weeks ago. I guess I was a year too early as I couldn't look at the 228s fast enough last year as they were on the market...

    Routing Starboard

Thanks, I plan to slow the speed down and see what happens. I went counterclockwise but need to confirm I read the bit correctly. I will be finishing the work this weekend, hopefully!

    Routing Starboard

Agreed. I was about to purchase a Freud bit but was tempted by the Yonico based on reviews/ demos sites had and it being available at HD as well. Definitely next job I’ll upgrade to one of those. I bought a Skil router set that did a nice job on wood and had none of these issues...

    Routing Starboard

Thanks - I’m using a Dewalt 20v router. Below are some notes from my effort... - Out of 7 speeds , I put it around 4.5-5 as I thought starboard was considered a soft wood per the manual. - Clamped the panel to my table - Each side I went approximately 4-5 times, adjusting the height and...

    Routing Starboard

So I just got my piece from TAP Plastics and I am routing a bit from the backside so it recesses into that dash compartment.... Any idea what is causing the rough cut? Am I not going fast enough? Moving it too slow, etc? RPMs not high enough... Brand new bits, also Considering this is the...

Did you go with Seawhite or Chalk? I believe seasick went with chalk. Is that what you went with or the Sea White???

    Rigging transducer cable

When you snake the transducer cables, do you cut the plug off to snake through the transom or leave as is? The plug on my Active Imaging is probably 1.5-2in while the cable is relatively thin. Seems odd to create a big enough hole to fit it through when the cable could go through a .25in hole.

    Homework!!

With those new gauges, do you still need the fuel switch between main and Aux or does the gauge let you see both or toggle between them

    Grady Pleated Vinyl

Just following up on this thread, what material did you end up going with? I was looking to redo the bolsters for my 2000 228. Is the better match Seaquest Chalk white or Seaquest Sea white? Or something else?

    228 Livewell Support Arm

The difference is their length at compression vs fully extended. The “3” extends to 10in while the “2” goes to 7.5.
