    268 Islander info needed

1998 uses XL greenboard. It wont rot, but can delaminate. If the transome is not bulging on the outside or inside, no cracks along the inside, and you can stand on the anti ventilation plate without flex, go for it.

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

Update: The bushings from Springfield work, but aren't perfect. Unlike the Todd bushing, these are tapered with a radius. The issue is the wall thickness. Amazon reviews complain the parts are so poorly made that the wall thickness is inconsistent. I called Springfield and it turns out they...

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

Not 100% sure, but I think top that inserts into the seat needs to be tapered and have a radius at the top edge. The Todd part had neither. I couldn't insert the bushing all the way. When I put the assembly on the pedestal, it wobbled terribly and I couldn't tighten it enough.

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

The Todd part was 2 7/8" but didn't work. Od was too small. Hopefully GW customer service is right. Amazon is sending one my way. Will know tomorrow.

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

According to GW customer service Springfield 2171001 will work. Anyone tried that one? https://www.springfieldgrp.com/products/boat-accessories/handle-assemblies/2-78-trac-lock-bushing/trac-lock-bushing-2171001

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

Bummer. Depending on the slide cost, I might go that route. Another option is I found UHMW PE on ebay that is the right od for a surprisingly low price. I would need to find someone with a lathe to turn down the id.

    Loadrite trailer bearings

Definitely not weight. As for alignment, I haven't checked it, but the tire on that side gets no hotter than the other.

    Loadrite trailer bearings

Had my dad with me today too. He didn't think it was excessively hot despite not being able to keep a finger on it for more than a four count. From what I've read, if you can't touch it for long, it's too hot. Typically the rubber cover would bulge from the heat. This last run today it did not.

    Loadrite trailer bearings

No noise and no wobble. When I checked the nut it had zero play. I tightened it and backed it off to have a tiny amount of play. Greased it again and ran it today - no better initially on the way out. On the way home ran it 25 minutes down the highway and then to the house. Suspect side was...

Seat bushings. What size or part number?

One of my seat bushings finally crumbled today on my 99 Voyager. Anyone know if this replacement from Todd is the correct one? https://www.amazon.com/Todd-Replacement-Bushing-Boat-Pedestals/dp/B000LCA9SA

    Loadrite trailer bearings

2014 loadrite tandem axle trailer with 6000 lb capacity. One of the hubs has been getting warmer than the others. I thought it was the brakes, but the rotor is not hot. I checked to make sure the castle nut was not overtighten. It was fine. I greased while rotating the wheel and I'm confident...

These new loop propellers look amazing...

Dont get me wrong. The design is amazing... so was the Evinrude G2. The performance difference at cruise was negligible and likely within a potential margin for error based on set-up and load. Hell ya I'd take one, but I certainly dont run enough hours to justify the cost. If the price doesn't...

These new loop propellers look amazing...

Watched a video on them months ago. Little to no benefit at cruise speed. Definitely more efficient at other speeds, but not cost effective IMO. Good luck ever getting one fixed.

    2001 248 Voyager w/Yamaha 225 saltwater series.I I

A 225 sws2 is the same displacement as the 250 version. The midrange power on both engines is excellent. Compare it to a 3.3 Yamaha 225 4 stroke and you will be very disappointed with the 3.3. Compare it to a 225-300 4.2, that's a different story. Unless you do a lot of idling, can't stand the...
