    Bimini 306 Repower

Getting a lot of first hand feedback on this site for your specific application likely won't happen simply do to the number of members. Searching THT might give you a better idea. Posting over there with the same question however, will likely result in a 3-ring circus! I think all manufacturers...

    discontinued models

Directly from their website: "We pioneered the walkaround cabin, and with customers’ dream lists over the past 40 years we perfected the design." ...and apparently are abandoning them. Sad day IMO, but I'm not the guy helping to pay the bills for GW by buying new. Looks like if I ever buy...

    HELP! Wet transom Help!! Please!!!!

Re: Wet transom Help!! Please!!!! You mentioned having the tarp over the transom, but is it covering the entire rear of the boat? You don't have too many places for water to enter unless your 98 is different than our 99. I suspect the water is coming throughout the brass tubes you replaced...

Serious marine related product failure. What would you do?

Re: Serious marine related product failure. What would you The damages are mostly electrical, and difficult to identify everything that might be affected. Since the damages are not obvious and possibly not extensive, I doubt any lawyer will want anything to do with it, unless I pay up. At...

Serious marine related product failure. What would you do?

Two weekends ago I had a product fail on me that could have resulted in a fire had I not acted quickly. On Monday the 2nd I contacted the manufacturer and emailed photos of damages. To my disappointment, I barely got a 2 sentence response. At that point I sent a detailed email explaining what...

Trailer Issue, not enough tongue weight

I somehow missed the part about your wife climbing up the back and having the trailer move. If that is the case, you will need some significant changes like Dennis mentioned. I would head back to dealer to have axles moved.

Trailer Issue, not enough tongue weight

Thanks! If it weren't for your photo showing the gap between the bottom of your roller and the d-ring, I would not have thought of it. Hopefully there is nothing (part geometry) preventing you from making the change and you can move the boat up enough to give you what you need. Keep us posted.

Trailer Issue, not enough tongue weight

If possible, the cheapest, simplest change (if the trailer is already level) would be to move the roller back on the winch stand. Drilling the holes won't be a picnic, but it will be way easier than moving axles.

Reputable charter out of Marco Island

Glad I asked. This might be perfect! My kids are 7 and 9 and would be interested in a little fishing, and seeing wildlife in the 10k islands. Thanks Fishtales.

    1996 Voyager 248 - low freshwater pressure - filter?

Ours is mounted on the pump found under the trash can. Yes it does plug up. We had so much scum in the tank and lines that I had to remove the tank and slosh around hot bleach water to remove it all. Not a difficult job, but time consuming. Flushed the lines out too.

    OX66 and fuel vapor pressure

I think it's safe to say that a large busy station has turned over their fuel by the end of June. Again, we filled up more than once on summer blend with no change. Back to winter blend, all is well. After 5+ years of the same issue every year like clockwork, I think the fuel is likely to be...

    OX66 and fuel vapor pressure

Over the years I have experienced 2 entirely different large displacement outboards exhibit the same performance issues in the heat of the summer - lousy low rpm performance. Initially I thought it was simply the heat because in the spring and fall both engines ran significantly better at low...

    1994 Explorer repower

I don't mean to hijack the OP' s thread, but the fuel burn question on the G2 and the Zuke on a Grady hull this size is of great interest to me. To be honest I'm surprised the Suzuki doesn't do better. I'm anxious to see what the G2 numbers look like. Our trusty, slightly crusty OX66 currently...

GW 258 Journey - need opinions - ride and fishability?

Re: GW 258 Journey - need opinions If you have been specifically looking for 25' trailerable walkarounds, stop looking. It's arguably the best 25 foot walkaround on the planet. You might have to wait a while to see people complain. If the price is right, buy it! On the other hand, if size...

Engine Breaking Up at High RPM

I'm not home to look at my book, but isn't the max rpm on an OX66 5500? Does the engine have a rev limiter like 4 strokes?

Locating the O2 Sensor on Yamaha OX-66 225 HP

Looking at the engine from the boat, you will find the sensor on the top left under an insulated plastic cover. You will need a special socket to remove the sensor. A standard O2 sensor socket will not work unless modified. The wall is too thick.

    Advice/opinion 1996 248 Voyager price

We bought ours out of Florida and hauled it home. Fun trip for us! Had it not checked out the story would have been a lot different. Price out the rusted parts and labor. You might be able to negotiate a little more since Yamaha parts = crazy expensive.
