If your 226 has a hardtop, add 500 lbs or so to the weight total... My 226, with hardtop, and about 70 gallons of fuel, weighed 6300 lbs including the trailer when weighed at the local truckstop. It sat on a 7000 GVW trailer (6000 capacity). I wouldn't have wanted anything smaller.

200 HPDI...everything will bolt right up. Great motor and you will like having the additional 50 HP. These motors are bulletproof.

You didn't mention what year your Seafarer is, but on my 226, I installed the VHF and stereo in the upper box, and the GPS/FF in the lower electronics box. You might want to consider flush mounting the unit in the lower box. The reason is, if you run the boat standing up, you will have...

Actually, the EZ Off works pretty well. Spray it on...use a dull razor blade to start the pull and pull them off. Finish with a good rinse of soap and water, then compound and wax to reduce the "ghosting" effect.

If you can swap the Yamaha prop for the 15.25x17 Merc Mirage Plus, I'd do it, I had the same setup, except the motor was an HPDI. Switching to the Merc Prop improved both top end and cruising speed.

The OX66 is EFI...the regular SWS is a carb'ed motor. The EFI motors have an extra "X" in the model number, and the manual choke override lever (on the front of the motor) is not there. (There is a black "cap" instead.

If you want to pull a skier and have 4 people in the boat at the same time, the 150 is going to struggle. Bottom paint also knocks a mile or two off the top end, due to the drag. My 205 had a F225 and it would cruise comfortably at 32-34. WOT was 46 or so.

Why not take the mushroom apart, and use just the hockey puck? You can mount it to the hardtop with all-weather double stick tape and "try it out". Once you are sure it works well, then drill your holes.

What CPA said... Some trim / cushion fabric changes...stainless steel rubrail, and striping that is green instead of blue. Otherwise, they are the same.
