    GPS, Sonar Problem

Your boat is an '06...has the brass seacocks and ss fittings. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

    GPS, Sonar Problem

Sorry you got taken for a ride... If you can avoid cutting and soldering the transducer wire, I would use the old wire as a snake to pull the new wire through. Unless the connection is perfect, you will lose efficiency through the solder, which will affect the signal.

    Water intrusion???? 228 Seafarer

These boats are notorious for water getting into the bilge through the anchor locker. Spray, the hose during washdown, rain, etc...can all send water into the anchor locker, and it runs "downhill" from there.

    New Dash, 2000 Seafarer

Unless you are handy with a router and a jig saw, you might want to consider laying out what you want to do and where, make your measurements, and then pay someone to make the panel. Both Jim and I both used Fin Addict Marine (www.finaddictmarine.com) and they would get my thumbs up again...

    New Dash, 2000 Seafarer

Here is the link to JiminGA's upgrade on his 228. http://www.greatgrady.com/forum/viewtop ... highlight= Here is a pic of the Lowrance 111 flush mounted in my '01 226:

    New Dash, 2000 Seafarer

Option #1 is an easy one, relatively speaking. I did my '01 this way, and was able to fit a 10.4" Lowrance combo unit in the panel with room to spare. I also helped JiminGa do the same project on his Seafarer....he did separate GPS and FF units in a flush panel. You might want to do a...

Questions On Fitting a Merc Prop to a Yamaha Engine

Did you buy the "Flo-Torq II" hub kit that Quicksilver makes? Looks like the part number is 835271Q2...should set you back less than $40

    Yahama Speedometer

Remember that, even if the pickup is clean, there will be a slight difference in the speedo and the GPS. Your GPS measures speed over the ground...the speedo measures speed through the water, and current, etc... will be included. Hence, the difference.

    Prop Question for 228G

15.25 x17 Merc Mirage Plus (or Thunderbolt which is the same prop without the plugs). Should give the same rpm at WOT, and your cruise should be a little higher. You will also notice an increase in maneuverability around the dock and at slow speeds, due to the increased blade size.

$67,785 for a 20 foot boat! Do I laugh now?

That $67K number is MSRP...you can buy a 205 for right around $50K. You can buy a new '09 225 for the mid 60s..... The used 225 in Florida has 735 hours on it, no electronics, only a bimini, and no other options. (No head, short platform, no washdown, etc...)

    What's This? A New 30ft Walk-Thru?

Not a rumor... The original plan was to release it in Miami in February, but the success of the 275 (of which they can't build them fast enough, apparently) has led them to move up the launch...

    Horsepower for a tournament 190

    Horsepower for a tournament 190

If its an older Tournament 190, it may be a 20" shaft motor...keep this in mind as you are looking. There are plenty of 150 or 200 HPDIs on the market for people who have drunk the 4 stroke kool aid and are repowering...either one of these would be a good fit. If you are going new, I'd...

    Folding or removable trailer tongue

Get it done at the factory...that way if there is an issue, etc...later on you have some warranty recourse. Float-On (down your way in Vero) offers the folding tongue as an option. Expect to pay somewhere in the neigborhood of $250 for it.

    Towing other Boats

I agree with CJBrown on this one... The stern eyes are designed to hold the weight of the boat in a lifting situation. If you order the lifting kit, you get the reinforced bow lifting eye...thats it. While I would agree that a towing post or eye, mounted forward of the engine, is better...

Buying a new trailer; Adventure 208 Trailer Capacity

My 208 sat on a 6000 GVW trailer. GVW includes the weight of the trailer, and it weighed around 850lbs, so the capacity of the trailer was somewhere around 5150 lbs. It was perfect...not so heavy as to be overkill, but provided plenty of reserve for the weight, plus any additional weight...

    Seafarer 226 versus 228

Take Pascoe's ratings with a grain of salt....if you believed every word he said then GW would be out of business.... That said, the 226 and 228 are different animals. I've owned both; the 228 gives you the additional security of the full transom and the bracket. The 226 is about 2 ft...

    nav lights for 265 express

You might want to consider replacing them with LEDs....they will last longer... BOE MARINE (http://www.byownerelectronics.com) has them on their website under LED running lights. Barring that, PM me your HIN and I'll be happy to check with GW and get the cost on the OEM ones...it may be...

    towing question

That Seafarer will be heavier than you think... The 3510 weight does not include a hardtop...if the boat you are looking at has this option its another 500 lbs or so. Does the boat have the aux tank? Not that you would, but if you filled both tanks it would be an additional 350 lbs over the...
