    Electronics-flush mount or not?

I flushmounted a 10" Lowrance on my 226. Did it not only for the look, but the fact that a 10" screen inside the box meant the top and bottom were cut off. Flush mounted, it was much easier to see.... Its not a difficult project either. Companies like Fin-Addict Marine and Buck Woodcraft...

Casey Key is just south of Sarasota. Cannons (in Longboat Key) will be the closest.

Recommendations for location of GPS antenna on 226 Seafarer

Seems like a bad week to be on Great Grady, between you and Greyg8r, we will need an injured reserve list soon. Feel better. I never had trouble with the GPS antenna being next to the VHF antenna, and in fact, on the 226 they were less than a foot apart on the T-Top. Still, if you are...

Ring Free AND a fuel stabilizer?

I've used Ring Free and PRI-G for years. It seems to work...no problems with water or gunk in the fuel. PRI-G is similar to Sta-Bil, but a bottle goes further as its more highly concentrated. You can find it at Boaters World.

MPG, prop, and hole placement questions on 208 F225 combo

My 205/F225 combo would turn 5900 and 46 mph with the 15.25x17 SWSII Prop. I was nowhere near the 48-49 mph that GW says I should see. Best fuel economy was 3.7 mpg at about 32 mph. Past experience with the Mirage prop (on my 226) resulted in an increase of 2-3 mph. Although I sold the...

Recommendations for location of GPS antenna on 226 Seafarer

How about on the side of the walkaround? This is how mine was mounted on the 208 (any my 228 without a hardtop) Worked great. Its an easy install too...if you peel off the screw covers and remove the 8 or so screws holding the switch panel in place, you can slide the panel out of the...

    Portable Head - 2006 228G Seafarer

I'm guessing you have the deck pump out head. Two hoses lead from it. One is a vent (located on the outside of the starboard side amidships. The other leads to the deck pump out, which is on the starboard walkway to the foredeck.

jimmy's marine service and arc tec marine

I usually steer clear of posters who resort to this nonsense....and have - at times - been forced to defend a member on this, and that other forum some of us frequent. That said...thank you Seafarer...its about time.

    New Dealership in Central Florida

Actually, it makes 3 dealers that have changed in the last year...the Tampa dealer (Jack's Interbay) lost the line to Homosassa Marine (about 90 min North in Homosassa Spgs). Quality Boats in Clearwater now has the entire Tampa Bay territory.

    Ringfree / Techron Prices

PRI-G is a fuel stabilizer....similar to Sta-Bil but more concentrated and therefore a bottle goes further. You can buy it at Boaters World or West....a 16 oz bottle treats 256 gallons and goes for $22 or so.

    Ringfree / Techron Prices

Ring Free and Techron are similar, but not exactly the same. Ring Free is one oz. for 10 gallons, so that 32 oz. bottle for $35 or so will treat about 320 gallons. If I recall, the 12 oz techron bottles (at $8 apiece or so at Costco) treat up to 20 gallons. You would need about $128 worth...

    need help selecting gps

If you can track down the Garmin 498c, you can get a decent deal on a great machine. Don't let the fact that its discontinued scare you off...it has built-in Bluechart, a decent FF, and the size will fit your dash. Should be able to find one for right around $500 or so...maybe even a few...

On board battery charger for a Tournament 225

Chris, You really won't need it, unless the boat sits for months at a time. Once you put it on the trailer and put the cover on it, flip the battery switch to "off" to keep anything from draining it. Check the water level, and remove the batteries in the winter and bring them home.

    205 propulsion

It depends on how you will use it. I tested a 205 with an F150 and top speed is around 39 mph. If you will be cruising, fishing, etc..that may be fine. If you are pulling a skier with 3-4 people in the boat, you will be disappointed. My 205 had a F225 and the performance numbers were...

Fuel Management - Yamaha or After Market?

If you are hanging a new F200, why not use the Commandlink gauges? They will tie right into the electronics on the engine.
