    Trim tab not working

Assuming your old tabs are Bennett, they have been making the electric Bolt tab system for a number of years now. Pretty sure you can buy their electric actuators, and use your existing tabs, if you want to save some money.

    OEM horn cover replacement

Cut out the round grill, and find a piece of plastic or ss mesh to go inside the square. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/replacement-horn-cover.13360/ Sounds like a common problem from that era boat.

    Thoughts on rod holder davits

I don't think I have ever seen them. Who makes them? That's a lot of stress on a rod holder. Do you currently have a method that you are trying to improve upon? Must be a PIA with outboards.

GW Replacement Spray Hose + Pump

IF THE PUMP RUNS, there is a screen filter where the hose from the tank attaches to the pump. That is assuming your wash down is fresh water. If so, what is your output at the sink? Mine was pretty clogged. Take it off, the filter comes apart to access the screen, and flush it out. My output...

    Seafarer Wood Bulkhead Replacement

I agree Dennis. But I don’t know whether it is coming from washing the deck, or dripping down from above. If it is from washing down, I could caulk the joint, and hope that it will dry out. If it’s coming from above, The caulk would just create a dam.

    Seafarer Wood Bulkhead Replacement

On my 2000, I am getting a brown stain weeping out from underneath the portside bulkhead, but I can’t find where it is coming from. Mine has about a 4“ x 1/4“ baseboard glued and screwed to the bottom.

    Seafarer Wood Bulkhead Replacement

If you don’t trust your self with a jigsaw, and you still have good edges on the original pieces, you can clamp or screw them together and use a flush trimming router bit to finish cut your new panels. I would rough cut it a quarter inch outside the line with a jigsaw, and then router the...

Looking for new set of canvas enclosure for 228

OFF! Those snaps on the windshield are in a slide track, and no 2 boats are exactly the same. You could move your snaps to fit your new canvas, IF that is the only thing they are used for. Some people have helm covers, or cockpit covers, that use the same snaps.

    It's official - 228 is no more :-(

Give me a 375 Freedom, I won't feel embarrassed by the dual console, or the family features. You go up one foot each time, when you move from a 208 to a 228, to a 232. Makes sense to eliminate the middle model. Lucky, I thought from your post title that you had sold yours. at least it wasn't that.

    Offshore surprise

Birds migrate thousands of miles, mostly at night, so 34 miles is not that far. Probably saw what you were doing to the fish, and didn't want to hang around.

    Couple of motor bracket questions

That plug looks like it was designed for an O-ring to fit in the inner circle. If the plug, and the boat side seal, didn't leak with the 30 gallons he drained out, I don't see what filling it with fresh water will show, unless you have a connector to fill it thru the plug hole, and see if the...

Trailer guideposts, how close and how far back?

I get the boat centered on the trailer, and snug them up to the rub rail. They have some flex to them, if there is a wide spot forward, but they should settle the boat straight down when you slowly pull up the ramp. If you leave an inch or two gap, you may be one of those guys going down the...

    Trim tab not working

Go to post #3 for Tabman's troubleshooting guide. Tom was irreplacable. On my Seafarer, the HPU is under the starboard vee berth. https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/88462-one-trim-tab-not-working.html
