    YAMAHA Outboard paint

I would go to an auto body shop and have them color match for you. They should be able to set you up with a small amount of paint. I've never had good luck with the "color matched" spray bombs.

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

I wasn't surprised at what I found. This I/O boat was put together the same way as a 227 I had a few years ago and it had the very same issues...aside from the cockpit floor, so I sort of expected it...but was hopeful that it was a diamond in the rough. I'm not holding anything against the...

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

Unfortunately I had to rule out the 245. :( My son and I made the 2-1/2 hour drive to check in out yesterday and found most of the port side of the cockpit floor was soft, the bulkhead separating the tank and engine compartments was rotten and the glass over the engine beds had popped open...

Pretty sure it's been on the market here and there for about a year now.

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

A full on project isn't what I'm looking for, but if it's something that I can sink a little work into over the next month or two I'm ok with that. That 24 is at a price point where I could probably stick a new motor in it and still be ahead of the game. :D

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

Spoke to the owner of the 245 again last night and she told me the mechanic at the yard where the boat is stored said it needs risers...so she has dropped the price to $6k.

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

Thanks. Your thoughts pretty much mirror was I was thinking. My research had turned up the same thing about Fichts...it they made it past 100 hours, they were probably OK. I'm just a tad concerned that the motor box of the 245 would eat up so much cockpit space that you end up with the same...

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

Back in the market after selling my little Maycraft CC earlier this year. I'm looking for something descent in the 20 to 24 range that I can use mostly for fishing the Chesapeake Bay, but also for day drips with the family (wife, teenage daughter or daughters and 9 yr old son) and an occasion...

2008 208 Adventure Locking Seat Replacement

Had a similar thing happen on a fishing chair base once and I had Don @ Pipe Dreams Marine weld it for me. I have two swivel bases at home in the basement. They are a different style so I'm not sure if they would work for you or not.

    plastic wood trim looks lousy

When using long pieces of Starboard, you have to elongate the mounting holes and not fully snug down your fasteners to account for the expansion/contraction.

    Grady vs What??

Sounds to me like you really need a pilothouse. Over here on the east coast we have offerings from Parker, Steiger, Maycraft, Judge/Eastern that would suit you needs well. Not sure what you guys have over there but it may be worth investigating.

    209 Escape transom cap replacement

IMO...since you went as far as pulling the motor you should have had that joint glassed over and gelcoated. That's the best fix.

Cover hole left by stereo Head Unit on 2006 225 Tournament?

Re: Cover hole left by stereo Head Unit on 2006 225 Tourname I would have glassed in the hole...but then again I like to do things the hard way. :)

    Trailer running gear upgrade

The bearing numbers will be stamped on the inner race as shown here: Any auto parts store should be able to cross reference those numbers and get you the Timken parts you want (if they have access to the brand).

Crack near or in transom? - 1991 Seafarer 228g

That's the beam that runs horizontally across the transom, isn't it? If I remember correctly, the one in my Sailfish wasn't glassed over on the ends, so it definitely has the possibility of getting wet. If it get enough moisture in it, it could swell and pop the glass...which is what that one...

gw204's 227 part out and garage/basement clean out sale

Got a bunch of stuff out of storage for a perspective buyer, but shipping was cost prohibitive. That being said, I don't feel like putting a lot of it back. Make offers on the Seafarer specific stuff...cabin bulkheads, cabin windows, windshield, etc.
