    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

On a recreational boat that's probably a fair assessment. On a work boat we tried everything to protect the joint's from the elements, but in the end mother nature would always win.

    Motor Bracket

I would go with paint vs powder coating if you have the option. My bracket wasn't recommended by Grady to hang a more powerful, heavier Zuke 300. They recommend I displace the force over a larger area so I went with one with an integrated swim platform. Your boat is a much newer model and...

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

A solder joint always requires a mechanical connection IMO. I like to sweat a little solder as the the crimping process disturbes the tinned wire. Probably not needed, but bad battery cables scare me.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

I do something similar, but use the hammer crimper first and then followup with solder/heatshrink.

    Little Electric Maintenance - Breakers

The style used with the hammer has always been my go to. I have had it for a number of years without issue. I make everything up on the bench and then install.

    Adding trim tabs

Yep, and each have their application. If it's a small boat with limited space electric is the way to go. Electric is MUCH more responsive. The hydraulics are usually easier to repair and probably have a longer life expectancy. I have both and like the electrics better. If the boats stored...

    Seafarer Re-power options

When I'm outside the tow area someone on my boat has a medical condition. ;)

    Seafarer Re-power options

My last motor had low hours on it when I picked the boat up from my brother. It was a '93 Yami 225 with less that 400hrs. I started to get the temp alarm now and again so I ran an acidic fluid through it followed by a base fluid. The amount of calcium white that came out of the motor was...

    Towing Grady with Jeep

Yikes, didn't know that was an attack. I simply would like to see the test and how they perseave it relates to the real world. I don't trust the auto industry. GM just took it on the shins for false tow info in the last couple years.

    Towing Grady with Jeep

I worry most about wheelbase and brakes when it comes to a tow vehicle. The tow numbers are for commercials--lol. The scariest tow vehicle I have ever used was actually a Jeep--but it was a Wrangler. Those belong to the 40 year old women going through a life crisis or moving to Florida. lol

    Updating stereo on boat 228

If you get the Fusion black box you only need a spot for a 2" or so hole and the box goes down below. All the functions are on the GPS or your phone.

    Integrating Fusion Stereo

Unless you have multiple screens/stations the Fusion integration is eye wash. You can adjust everything via the app.

    Updating stereo on boat 228

If you just want good clean sound and don't want amps and speakers everywhere get a nice BT soundbar and add it to your hard top. They have come a long way! I was looking at one for my little Mako. I

    Updating stereo on boat 228

I would go with the Classic grills as well. I have a set of each and will say the classics provide much more protection. I have the newer style aft and haven't run a sinker through them yet. Where you want to put them might see more feet and possibly a fish rod tip as its near the rod racks.

    Updating stereo on boat 228

I think you will like the sound better with that setup. Just make sure you have something for you while you are running. I don't have a hard top currently and added some Harmon outdoor boxed speakers under the storage/cup holder area on both sides. It's just temporary but actually sounds pretty...

    Updating stereo on boat 228

I agree with Dennis on the tube style speakers as they don't have enough room behind them and lose a lot of the range. I made a set for my JL's and immediately pitched that idea. If you get the fusion get one of the little puck remotes if you do ever go to the sandbar. It makes it easy to...

    How does beam affect ride?

The Freeman is in a different class. The speed and fishing platform is on another level. I was on a YF hybrid and the small Freeman walked us.
