tournament 223 hp rating (and weight)

    I wouldn't go over the 230 recommended - for insurance reasons....but that's just me. I owned a 98 225 Tournament with a 200 Carb Yamaha and top speed was 41 mph trimmed out. Turned a Mirage Plus 17" prop. I took delivery a month ago of a 99 223 with a 225 OX66 but for a number of reasons...

You are always welcome here... Heck...I peruse the Classic Mako forum and sold my Mako years ago...they will still take me.

    winterizing grady (mid-atlantic area)

Covering the boat? Make sure that the cover is reinforced and has support at major areas where snow and ice can pool. Also, can your lift handle the extra weight that it will incur during a blizzard? A good cleaning and coat of wax now can make spring cleaning that much easier.

    Yamaha fuel management help needed

I'd email SIM (Andy) at Shipyard Island Marina....he is the go-to for Yamaha parts and info. His website is www.simyamaha.com The short answer is yes...you will need the NMEA 2000 starter kit for the Lowrance but essentially the starter kit includes the T-connections and a power harness. Wire...

223 Owners - What hole is your motor mounted in?

Just picked up a 223 with a 225 OX 66. Motor is mounted in the lowest hole. Curious if anyone has the same setup and if your motor is mounted higher. I'm all for performance gains, but don't want to waste the time and energy if the lowest hole is where it needs to be.

    Yamaha fuel management help needed

Take the cover off the motor and look at the front of it. If you see a plug with a cap on it, then your motor is NMEA 2000 compatible. If it is, you can get fuel economy data sent to your GPS Plotter if it's NMEA 2000 compatible. You will need the hub and a cable.

226 Glove box delete/electronics mount upgrade

Looks good...I did the same mod on my 225 Tournament that I recently sold and am also doing it for the 223 which I have acquired. Much easier to use and see the electronics as opposed to them being in the box.

Need parts for my 226 transom Door

It's a rubber piece of plastic...it needs to be able to "breakaway" in the event you tilt the motor up and forget to put the door down....

    HPDI OIL

Sounds about right to me. At 50:1, you would have burned 4 gallons for 200 gallons of gas. We're you running them hard? Above 4000-4500 most of the trip?

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

Doubtful but not impossible that it's waterlogged. What hole is the motor mounted in? If it's at the top hole, the motor may be mounted too low. I'd raise it up one hole at a time and go for a ride.

    Scupper Flappers - Replacement

You have two separate issues. If water is coming up through your self bailing drains in the stern corners, then the flappers need to be replaced. A package runs less than $10 and West Marine has them. If your livewell is filling up while you are running the boat, it's because the pickup is on...

Lake Lanier growing in GW popularity. Check in

Owens and Sons...Jeff and Doug take good care of me; their pricing is competitive with everything else out there but the difference is I know that when I put the boat on the trailer for the first time it will fit like a glove. Not having to worry about the trailer is piece of mind to me and...

Lake Lanier growing in GW popularity. Check in

Well...off the top of my head...besides me (had a 225 Tournament...a 223 is on the way) there is Bob's Cay and his 204....Bokat and his 232 Gulfstream, Geedub and his 204 CC, and probably several others. Was out a couple weeks ago....saw a 272 Sailfish fueling at Port Royale...and passed a...

    208 Adventure buying advice

Steer clear of a boat with an F150....good engine but if want to pull a skier, or end up with a boat with a hardtop, it will be marginal. The SWS and OX66 engines are bulletproof. They are thirsty, though. If it were me though, I'd look for one with a 200 HPDI. Super reliable and fuel...

    Trailer Jacks!

If I recall, it's marked on the packaging that its a lifetime warranty. I exchanged one there on a previous boat with no issues. The 1000 lb galvanized is probably a good choice.

    Trailer Jacks!

Bass Pro puts a lifetime warranty on theirs. Same price as everyone else, but when it breaks, and it will, take it off and go back and exchange it.
