I'd stay away from plastic.....it's not so much the "wear out" factor as it is the "hit a piling or something in the water and they split".... SS or chrome over bronze will serve you well.

I don't think you will need it. On my 180, they never flipped open. I too had to replace the screws. Just make sure the cushions are secured or they will blow out. I had to replace one - $150 a pop at my local shop to get one made.

Hunt around on eBay and you should be able to find used ones. They are plug and play. Congratulations and enjoy the new boat.

My 225, and the 228 before it, scaled in at 5500 lbs. And that was with a half tank of fuel. And that's with the weight of the trailer subtracted. Actual GVW - with the trailer - on the scale - was almost 6400 lbs. Both of those boats sit (and sat) on 7000 GVW - 6000 capacity trailers...

You shouldn't need to be pumping grease in after every use. If you don't have them, consider swapping the hubs for Super-Lube/Accu-Lube,etc...hubs with the built in grease fitting. When you pump grease in through the fitting, it pushes the old grease out through a one-way seal. When the...

The Airhead one is nylon and it floats....

You need an extra long (12') harness. I have the Airhead TY0216 (about $20 or so) and it clears the motor with no issues.

Get the biggest screen your wallet can safely handle. A 10inch screen will fit in the box. HDS 8 or 10, Gen2...with structure scan will work well.
