FinAddict in NC Flush Mount Electronics Template for 265 Exp

Re: FinAddict in NC Flush Mount Electronics Template for 265 Fin Addict has done a couple of dash plates for me...no issues but he is busy, particularly this time of year. You might also try Florida Marine Plastics...he did my last panel and was less expensive and his turnaround was faster.

New Boat. "new to us anyway"

The bilge pump is controlled by a float switch or a manual override...when you flipped it on, you hit the manual override and the pump started pumping. Check the float and as long as it's working, you can leave the switch in auto mode....when the water gets high enough, the bilge pump will kick...

    Windshield Wiper Blade

NAPA carries the replacements (that are held on with the nut). They run about $10. You will pay $25 or so if you get it from the GW dealer.

Blank Grady Instrument Panel, 1993 time frame

New Wire Marine can make you a panel out of carbon fiber.....looks almost exactly like the newer GW panels. Alternatively you could use black or seafoam starboard, or a piece of black acrylic. All, when done right, will look good.

    New Trailer

Dale, Call Jeff at Owens and Sons (727-323-1088). Regardless of whether you buy from him or not, he is a fountain of knowledge regarding trailer design. My last 3 Gradys have had Owens and Sons/Slide On underneath them. He is a pleasure to deal with. Good luck.

    Mooring Cover

Bob - thanks. I suspect he will need to see the boat to measure it...as I'm hoping to finally get it back by the end of the month I will give him a call.

Seafarer 228G: When Was The Last Major Design Change?

The window configuration on the cabin changed in 1998. The switch panel changed in 2006. The hardtop got a full length e-box in 2001. Other than that, basically the same since 1993.

2 pumps from the one sea cock inlet?

I think there is one inside the pump, no? I looked at doing this same upgrade before I sold the last 225...the soon to arrive 223 has separate livewell and washdown so I won't need it.

    Seafarer 228G

It's been for sale forever....is overpriced...and they are in no hurry to move it. A new F250 out the door is about $18K here...not sure down there. I think your friend can find a better deal...let us know what he is looking for and we can help you and him out.

winterizing fresh water lines - tournament 223

Suzukidave, the port side storage cooler is the livewell....if you open it up you will see the outlet up on the side of the compartment. Go on the GW website and download your owners manual....you will need your HIN to get into it but once you do, you get all the wiring diagrams, pump...

    2000 208 Adventure Prop for 200

It was the standard Yamaha 19 SS prop. One thing I have found is that the Merc Mirage Plus Props tend to work really well on these heavy hulls....when you trim them way out, it almost acts like an overdrive gear and adds 3-400 rpm and a bit more speed. I'd look for one and invest in it. If it...

    2000 208 Adventure Prop for 200

My 99 208 with a 200 OX was also mounted in the second hole. If memory serves me correct, it also turned a 19P prop but I am certain it got to 5400-5500 rpm and top speed was 43-44 or so. S3500074.jpg by parthery, on Flickr A drop to a 17 prop would put your RPMs at 5500-5600.

    Re-Trailering for a 228G

I bought a Continental CTA 2360 for my 225. It was too short...in order to get the tongue weight right I had 6-8 inches unsupported off the back. For some reason, they measure them short. In fact, I sold a brand new Continental 2260 out from under the boat that I bought in August for the same...

    New Trailer

Also looks like they didn't put caps on the PVC pipes. Other than that, it looks like a nice trailer. I too, concur on the second set of brakes though. It's cheap insurance.

    265 Repower (w/ ETEC 250's)

Re: 265 Repower (espcially those with 2001 hulls) x2 on the new 4 cylinder 200 Yamis. An honest 215 at the prop...plus you may be able to reuse some of your rigging and controls and save some $$$.
