    Why wood still?

We're over analyzing this. The real answer is... Chics like it. :D :D :D

    Why wood still?

He's exactly right. A 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4" Coosa Bluewater 26 is roughly 2.5 times as expensive as the same size sheet of marine ply.

    Why wood still?

There's nothing wrong with using wood in a boat...as long as it's done correctly and cared for properly. The worst thing that can happen to a wood cored boat is to get in the hands of a lazy owner. FYI - Regulator, Parker, Carolina Classic, Albemarle, etc. all still use wood.

    Deck Sealant

4000UV would be my choice as well. Whatever you use, put a piece of heavy monofilament in the groove before you caulk (fasten one end down though). That way if you ever have to take the panels up again, you just dig in at one spot, find the free end and yank it out. It will cut the caulk as...

    Purchasing a 1995 Spirit 175 CC

My only advice is no sea trial...no sale.

    outboard rigging

I would just try to use two separate rigging tubes...one for the throttle/shift cables and one for the wiring, gas and oil lines. Ask you nearest OMC shop if there were rigging tube fitting for the motor end to give you a clean install. As for the hydraulic lines, get some bulkhead fittings...

Oversize Trailering in NC could cost you BIG BUCK$!

I can certainly see increased restrictions for over-width rigs, but NC has gone off the deep end. All they are really going to accomplish is decreasing revenue for the state because people (residents and vacationers) won't want to deal with the hassles of trailering boats there.

    Yes

Twin 150 Optis will probably give you the BEST fuel economy and performance and would be my choice.

    Another Great Grady member

It's all in the hat...it's my lucky one. Has nothing to do with the boat. :D

    Another Great Grady member

At least you're recognizing them as "rockfish" now...and not using that NJ slang term "stripers". :D

    Tough question

I suggest you look at the Parker 2510DV. It's longer, wider, heavier, has a larger cockpit, is built better and costs less than a Gulfstream. The only downside is it doesn't have the sleek styling or creature comforts that the Grady has.

    Rinstalling the pulpit

Personally, I would use either 4200 or 5200 around any hardware that passes though a wood core (after drilling the holes oversize, filling w/ epoxy and then redrilling) and 4000UV to bed the pulpit and on the visible areas that get sealant.
