    Grady White Deck: FIXED!!!

Re: New Grady White Deck Cap Delamination http://www.wsfa.com/story/32522731/hist ... cant-fight happens to the best of them  it's still just a product made by hand (not that machine made is better). things do go wrong sometimes. as long as it doesn't become your problem, you're...

    Grady White Deck: FIXED!!!

Re: New Grady White Deck Cap Delamination are you saying there is no dealer involved? factory direct? i wouldn't really worry either way, contact whomever you purchased it from and they will have it fixed. I've never had a problem with them stepping up. good luck, ron

Locking the discharge valve for the head

not completely sure, but wouldn't a zip tie thru the handle and the fact that you need a separate key to operate the discharge meet requirements? i thought it was an inadvertent discharge that was being protected. lock or no lock, if you are going to dischage, you're going to discharge. good...

2003 330 Express, addtl rod racks: Can I drill here?

i use the 3m loop and lock's for many things, like mounting 2 fire extinguishers. very strong, i'm sure the hsb is similar compound. ron

    GIL BRACKET DRAIN

agree. i "filled in" the hollow part of the plug. mine, from mfg, was hollow inside of the threads (sealed off on interior thread side). couldn't figure out who thought that that was a good design. ron

2003 330 Express, addtl rod racks: Can I drill here?

that is the hull. mag racks would have been attached with a simple bracket rather than expensive glass formed mount if it wasn't. if you applied the hsb tape correctly, you'll be amazed at how much "hs" it has. if you do run into problems, re-seating with quick set epoxy will work. maybe...

    Help utilizing a water ground

i believe the dynaplate primary purpose is a grounding plane for SSB, but not an expert. your system is already water grounded via the engine. you might want to introduce some ferrite chokes, but at a minimum, go thru the process seasick laid out. good luck, ron

    22' with porta potty?

i would recommend the standard 2 piece porta potty. i made a mistake with the 232 by getting the deck and thru hull pump outs. someone in my marina had the 2 piece. he would take out the lower tank after each use, dump, rinse and done. i had to get to pump station or 3 mile limit. not...

Should it trim this far down?

one thing you should be aware of. when backing, the motors trimmed that far down will vector the screw current up against your hull. if you trim them level, you will notice a substantial increase in control. good luck, ron

    Keeping sea cocks closed??

i'm surprised that you haven't run into any problems with the genset. i haven't seen a mfg that doesn't recommend closing when not in use to prevent forced water into the head. like i said, many leave them open. i would hope you occasionally check their operation, as leaving them open could...

    Keeping sea cocks closed??

you keep seacocks closed to prevent water intrusion in the event of a busted attached hose. there are some who leave them open all the time. on the genset, however, it is essential to close the seacock when not in use. the water will be forced into the genset and potentially cause major...

    GIL BRACKET DRAIN

first off, if you haven't already, call gw and see if they or any dealers have some in stock. if you get one, check to see if the plug is hollow. mine was and i filled the interior of the threaded plug with 5200 to ensure it stayed correctly formed. if you need to improvise, i would first...

    adding A/C to a 1993 22' Seafarer

i thought i saw a small 12volt by dometic. you might want to look into that. a dedicated battery would probably weight about as much as the genset, but be a lot safer. good luck, ron

    2006 GIL 228 bracket

my 232 had water. i removed the access plate from the top of the bracket and re-bed it with a lot of below waterline caulk. ( the transom joint should already be well caulked, but if not, hit that too.) didn't fill up again. mine had a nylon plug in the bottom. i filled the middle with 5200...

    Boat Floats Unevenly

on my 232, i had a box of lead. a list would follow whichever side i had the lead on. it was also susceptible to engines up and titled to one or the other side. are you sure the waterline is painted evenly on both sides? are you looking at fixed points on the transom for measurement? you...
