    STA-BIL vs Yamalube?

JIP40 and I split a case of Ring Free once a year. It's about $35/qt. when we buy a case from DOMO. In the small bottles, Amazon has Techron Marine at $11/for 10 oz, so the price is essentially the same. That said, a gallon of Techron is $73 and would treat 1280 gallons of fuel. The same...

    STA-BIL vs Yamalube?

Chevron Techron Marine is a new option....and for less than Ring-Free.

    2020 Yamaha F250 prop on 226

From the looks of your trim gauge you could probably trim it up a little more too. Something else I noticed - that's an old school two stroke tach. Even with flipping the dip switches, I'm not sure you won't get warnings like low oil pressure, etc... You might want to consider upgrading to...

    Another good trip to Santee!

I thought you had put the boat to sleep for the winter? Looks like a fun trip....

    Trailer question

Dennis...you and I usually agree :) Other than gear, batteries, etc... the rest is straight from GW website. I'd opt for the tandem over the triple, if it were me....

    Trailer question

By virtue of where the boat is, your probably locked in to buying from them. A 7K trailer is nowhere near enough and personally, I don't think an 8600 lb trailer is either. Boat - 4660 dry (and stripped of options - more on this in a sec) Motors - 1100 Fuel - 900 (150 gal x 6) Water - 224 (32...

    192 Tournament wiring question

Common ground panel is on the fuse panel under the dash. Ground lead runs from there to the battery.

why I dont hear of any 223ntl tournament here A 1988

The 223 and 225 are identical with the exception of the transom. The 225 has the enclosed transom and the bracket. I've owned both...they are great boats. Let me know if you are looking for specific information.

    180 Sportsman or 209 Escape (maybe 222)

Sprockets is the guy to ask. He owned a 180 and a 222. Also lives in Central Florida so he knows the waters as well. I can give you a bunch of intell on the 180 (I owned one some years ago). It's a big heavy 18' boat.

    Tournament winter cover

I had same issue...wound up having a custom bow cover and cockpit cover made.

    Under Seat Drawer?

Boat Owners Warehouse can either build you a drawer, or build you something useful to fit in that slot. They are great people.

    Finally on the Loop. Pictures.

Good eating underneath the Brooks Bridge.... Just checked the weather and the winds are gusting out of the North...I've spent enough time on Choctawhatchee Bay to know that it makes for a miserable ride. Good call to stay put. If it lays down a bit it's worth poking your way over to Destin...

    Finally on the Loop. Pictures.

How far and how long is this leg of the loop for you? Going to get January cold here next week with the passage of a healthy cold front. Assuming you are going to try and cross to the West Coast of Florida sometime over the weekend.

    F225 on a 204c Overnighter?

Another vote for the I4 200. You are adding 150 lbs back there with the F225.

'04 180 Sportsman, Drain gas or fill and Stabilize

I change the fuel filter in the fall, then add the stabilizer and run it through. The stabilized fuel gets to the engine and whatever is in the filter over the winter naturally has stabilizer in it, as well.

Love love love that boat. Weather looks to hold until late in the week. Should be a good ride.

    Help with Grady Valuation

What part of the country? In the NE or out West, that's probably about right. In the SE or Florida, that's probably high.

My 24 year old son just bought his first boat. A 2001 209 Escape with a 200hp Yamaha 4 stroke.

I once had the same problem...turned out I missed reconnecting the ground between the battery banks...it had fallen down into the bilge. Now, whenever I disconnect the starboard side battery, I run a zip tie through all the wires. That way I can't lose anything.

'04 180 Sportsman, Drain gas or fill and Stabilize

Add stabilizer to the 20 gallons in the tank. Run the engine to get it all the way through the system. Replace the fuel filter. In the spring, fill the tank with fresh fuel and stabilizer.

    ox66 or not?

I thought only the 76 degree V6s (225 and 250 OX66) dropped a cylinder at idle but I could be wrong. I'd replace the plugs (not expensive)...replace the low pressure fuel pumps (also not terribly expensive) and see if that smoothes it out. The fact that it runs well at higher RPMs leads me...
