Newer (after about '97 I think) 208s used a polyethylene tank.....does yours? It may not be the tank that's leaking, but your fill hose. They don't last forever and at 25+ years old, ethanol may have gotten it.

There are screws. In order to get to them, you will have to disassemble the windshield frame, remove the glass and the vinyl gasket that sits between the glass and the frame. Once it's off, go up one size in screws, and use a dab of 5200 in the holes to anchor them tightly.

F225 should be closer to 6000 RPM at WOT. Your speed should also be in the low 40s. Are you trimming the motor up or is it all the way down to get 5400? What happens when you trim it up a bit? Are you reading speed from a GPS or from the speedo on the dash? If it's on the dash, the pitot...

They are nearly impossible to find. I recommend you have boat outfitters (boatoutfitters.com) make you a custom starboard panel in the same size, with a cutout for a single flush trumpet horn. That way when the horn fails in a couple years you can reuse the panel and replace the horn.

At 2000 rpm it's likely that you aren't up on plane. You said the motor started to ventilate....did it also rev up or just get loud? I pull tubers and skiers all the time and don't normally have an issue. Let us know what happens.....

So you've eliminated the motor and fluid. That's a good sign....those are the really expensive parts. I"d hunt for that fuse....sounds like it may have blown.

You should see it in the anchor locker. It should have a reinforcement (backing) and a couple of nylock nuts holding it on. What model and year boat?

Do you hear a click? Do you hear the tilt motor running but the engine is not moving? It's either the relays (which you have checked), low fluid (if you hear it running but it's not moving) or the tilt motor is shot.
