    Navigation light problem

If it lights in anchor mode but not in nav mode, and the nav lights work when the switch is flipped in the opposite direction, check the connections on the back of the switch. There is a jumper wire between two terminals on the back....one of the connections is loose.

    recommened trailer for 208

Where are you located? Typically, up in the NE guys love roller trailers. Down south we are partial to bunk trailers. My 208 sat on a 6000 GVW trailer which had a capacity of 5200 lbs. I wouldn't go much less. Better to have 10 percent extra capacity.

Need Advice on 1990 Tournament & all 90's Model Tournaments

Re: Need Advice on 1990 Tournament & all 90's Model Tourname Welcome to the forum.... The 190 became the 192 and got the Sea V-2 hull in 1994...there is a marked difference in how the two ride. I owned a late 80s 190 and it was a wet ride in any kind of quartering sea. The ride, while solid...

    Yamaha repower

I owned an '01 226 with a 200 HPDI...it's a 41 MPH boat when it's trimmed high and howling. By playing with props (I wound up with a Mirage Plus 17) I was able to get decent fuel economy and holeshot with a cruising speed around 29-30 mph. If you want to run much faster then that, go bigger...

    Tournament Preformance?

Before you sell the Pursuit, have you considered adding tabs to it? Far less expensive......

    Stiff Steering?

I can spin my 223 pretty easily....are you trimmed out at planing speed? If the motor is all the way down you will be fighting steering torque.

    Captains chair wobbles

I've got a wobble in the slider mechanism....there is a gap in there...looks like there was a plastic guide at one point but mine are both looser than my tastes prefer. Any idea how to get those slides. Google not turning up anything...

    Grady White Fuel Tank

Definitely use 2-Micron filters....buy fuel from reputable (busy) stations that turnover their inventory frequently....and use an Ethanol treatment unless you are buying Ethanol free fuel. Update on the cushions...I ordered the factory replacement cushions for the two captains chairs and they...

    grady rot

If you love the boat and are keeping it awhile, then it may be worth it. If you decide to sell it and look for another one, I'd look for a '94 or newer 192...Sea-V2 hull design makes a difference.

    Quick Disconnect on Fuel Filter

Given that it's on the inlet side, my guess is its been used to winterize or decarbon the motor. Makes it easy to hook up a portable 3 or 6 gallon tank with the "cocktail" of fuel and Seafoam.

    Engine Tilt

Assuming it's a Yamaha? On the back of the trim and tilt system there is a Philips head screw/nut/cap that - when removed - allows you to add more fluid. Top it up, run the motor up and down a couple of times, then remove the screw and check the fluid again. When it doesn't drop after you...

2 Issues with my 225 Tournament

Good news and bad news.... Sunbrella shrinks with age....if you can't get the snaps to stay on the only recommendation I can make is to try and stretch it out on a really hot day. As for your instruments, if they are faded from the sun baking them, they are finished. A brand new tach is...

    Steering control problem

Is it tough to steer at all speeds? If so, disconnect the steering cylinder and see if the motor rotates freely. If it does, then the problem is in the steering assembly. If it doesn't, the problem is in the steering bracket. Yamaha has a poor design in that pumping grease into the system...

    Wiper blade solution

The NAPA blade part number 60XX70 is a repackaged Anco 52-XX. XX is the length. On my 223 it's a 16. Cost me less than $10

    Grady White Fuel Tank

If the tank is still structurally sound, (meaning no leak) then have the tank pumped out and the lines flushed and cleaned. I've been down this road with my 225 and there was a ton of trash and water in there. Somewhere around, 99, GW added a shim between the filler and the hull in an effort...

    Broken horn?

Assuming it's the (1) or (2) piece round Ongaro, the best idea is to remove it and replace it. This is one of those items where it pays to buy it from West Marine and also pays to get their extended warranty on it. The horns don't last more then a couple years anyway and when they break, just...
