    Gulf Fishing Closure

Not buying BP gas will hurt BP, but it will also hurt the gas station owner. Most are independant owners locked in contracts. Still sucks. Looks like my Sailfish will spend most of the summer on the trailer the way things are going.

1997 Sailfish with twin Yamaha 225's

When I purchased my Sailfish I was getting salt water in the forward bilge. Turns out I had a leak around my transducer. The front of the boat sits lower in the water at rest, so any leak will go to the front bilge.....i fixed the leak and now it stays dry.

    Sailfish Trailer Cost

My trailer is a Hi-Tech. So far I have no complaints, if anything I feel it is a little "overbuilt", which is never a bad thing.

    HPDI Issue

Good call guys, I forgot about the VST. You have 2 filters and a strainer under the cowel of an HPDI. Good time to change them out if you have not already. The strainer is in the VST tank. FYI, I have 3 200hp HPDIs. I had trouble with one and fought for over a month to get it to run right...

    HPDI Issue

No it does not (wish it did). I ended up buying the Yamaha diagnostic software and connector. I pulled the sensor and cleaned it with carb cleaner, checked it with an ohm meter, and put it back in. Running fine ever since. It is actually fairly easy to do.

    Leaving boat in water....

I plan on taking my small (22ft) boat to the Keys on vacation and leaving it in the water for 7 days. It does not have bottom paint. Does anyone know if this is long enough to cause a problem? Or is there a temporary caoting I could put on it? I do not plan on bottom paitning for a one time thing.

    282 livewell pump replacement. ????????????????????

On my 272 you can pull out the deck section behind the gas tank to get to the pump. I pulled mine off while repairng a leak on my through hull transducer. The job is really not that bad, just get a tube or two of the proper sealant when you put the deck plate back in.

    Keel Hitting Trailer Axle

I ended upadding another set of bunks to act as guides before it raises up on the main ones. Once up on the trailer the boat does nor rest on this second set. I will take pictures when I can to better demonstrate how I did it. I thought about the roller, but I had issues with them...
