Type of prop for F225 on Grady 258

Steve: Yamaha tested this combo on 8-21-02 with a 15 1/4 X 17 SWS prop. See Yamaha's test here: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/prod ... -GRW-B.pdf The next day, Grady tested this same combo (probably same boat?) with a 13 3/4 X 19 M prop. See Grady's web site for performance specs...

    Yamaha F250 hits 1,000 hours

Just picked the boat up from the 1,000 hour service. So far, the F250 has been flawless. Heading to the Bahamas so I hope that record stays intact! Service cost was, coincidentally, also $1,000 and incuded the usual oil, filters, fluids, plugs, zincs (some in places I didn't know existed) and...

    25 Grady

Rick: I suspect that a 250 would be not quite enough. I'm thinking that with your 9'6" beam (I'm presuming that is correct) that your boat is a bit longer and wider than a current 232, which also has the engine(s) out on the bracket. And I would consider a single 250 to be marginal on a 232...

scuppers letting water back into my 208

Natsdad: It would help to know the year of the boat and which engine. I had a 1995 208 with a two-stroke 150 for ten years and I don't recall that I ever saw water come up the scuppers to deck level. If you don't get a good answer here on the forum, I believe calling Grady will get you some...

    Bahamas Trip - June 24th - 28th, 2009

Gulstream Grady Group Bahamas trip is on. Lee has thoughtfully arranged a captain and crew meeting at Gander Mountain (100 Gander Way, Palm Beach Gardens , FL 33403; 561-627-5642) this Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30 pm. Lee has arranged for Homeland Security staff to be there to sign people up for...

    Newbie question

Future: Downloading brochures will give you a good start. Grady walk-arounds have similar lines, and, from a distance, or in a picture, can look similar. But if you can get to a dealer or a boat show, (or look at the prices) you'll see a world of difference between the Voyager and the...

    Yamaha Parts Online??

Capt Khaos: I also used to change the plugs every 100 hours. Became obvious that I was waisting $. Now I clean, check colors and gap them every 100 hours and change every 300 hours. Even then is no indication that the plugs need changing! Rob

    Adventure v Overnighter

The SV2 ride on the 1993 Adventure was a significant improvement, in my opinion. Two friends had Overnighters (one with a bracket and one without) when I bought my Adventure. Even they agreed on the noticeably better ride on the Adventure. Also, the Adventure added, amongst other things a...

    Downrigger in South Texas

Not sure that I agree with placing the downrigger in a rod holder. That can be a lot of pressure for something not designed for it. I spoke with Grady when I mounted a Cannon downrigger on my then new 1995 208. They advised gunnel mounting with sufficient backing rather than the rod holder. I...

    09 228 seafarer

Another thought if you are referring to the freshwater washdown: I have thought my freshwater tank was full before when it wasn't. I put the hose in and water started backing out. Turns out there is a sharp bend in the water fill line. Either insert hose past that bend or slow down the pressure...

    Lee Gunnel Mount Outriggers

Strike: I addded them to my 208 which I had for ten years and now on my 258 which I have had for 5 years. Dealer installed for me and used some large washers as backing. No spider cracking at all. I do recommend you add a properly cut shim to counter the outbaord slant of the gunnel. Only...
