    Robalo vs. Grady White

You mean the 30' Marlin that's really only a 28' Marlin.

    Robalo vs. Grady White

You are correct about the running surface length, but IMHO that factor alone doesn't determine the size of the boat. The 282 has just as much (if not less) cockpit space as my 252. Everything else is exactly the same. I think Grady missed the mark with the introduction of the eurotransom...

    Robalo vs. Grady White

Add a pulpit and bracket or graft a hull extension on a 25'er and you can easily have a 30'er. Just like the current 282 Grady. It's really still a 25' boat, they just incorporated the bracket into the hull, called it a 28'er and charged more for it.

    STRIPING

Leave the stripes off. IMHO it looks better that way.

Show your Grady Pics - Fishing, Family, Fun, Whatever

Who cares about the size of the fish!?!?!?! The smile on their faces is what it's all about! :D Pay no attention to the wedgie.... :)

    204 bilge water passages

I kept the fuel tank drain plugged as well during the season. My intention was to keep bilge water out of the compartment so everything stayed dry. I would only open the drain during winter storage.

    Trailering Sailfish and Gulfstream

FYI - You can get aluminum trailers with an 80" wide frame instead of the standard 72". The boat won't overhang that wider trailer as much (if any) so it's less noticeable on the highway. From the rear, my boat doesn't appear to be any wider than my trailer.

Need New Thru Hulls on My '95 Adventure 208

If you keep a close eye on them, there's nothing wrong with plastic above the waterline. IMHO, the plain white ones definitely look better than stainless. Grady puts so many holes in the sides of these boats that when you go stainless it looks like they were used for target practice...

    Un-Decking a 25' Sword Fish

IMHO there's nothing special enough (other than sentimental value) about an '83 25' Grady to make it worth that expense before you even get into the cost of power. Now if you were working with an old SeaCraft, Mako, Blackfin, etc. you would be getting different advice. As others have said, I...

    1994 Explorer with a 4 stroke

Gather up a list of Yamaha dealers from Yamaha's websites. Shoot them a mass email stating your looking for a leftover new 250 OX66. There's got to be some out there. Travel for it if you have too. You couldn't pay me to take a 250 or 300 HPDI regardless if the updates were done and...

    Grady v Parker 23 ft

As stated, I think it fits right in between the 228 and 232. However, you can't really compare the three because they were designed for different audiences. The Parker 2310 is built for one thing...fishing. That's why the helm is slid farther forward. It increases the amount of usable...

    282 HDPI vs 4 Stroke

You must be talking about the new XS model Optis (250XS had been out for a while though). I don't know much about them, but I think they are more of a high performance model.

    20ft Overnighter with a single 120hp Force

My Dad used to have a '77 204 CC with a 115 Evinrude and it pushed that boat just fine. Wasn't a speed demon but he didn't want/need it to be.

    Robalo vs. Grady White

A different animal, but have you checked out the Parker 2310? It's not a fancy as either the Grady or the Robalo, but IMHO it's a better built boat for less $$$.

    1981 Mako 17 Project - 7/15/13 update

Got a bit more work done on/for the Mako today. After tossing the cover on my Grady, I headed down to the hardware store to rent an engine hoist so I could get the Merc. up on my stand. Step 1: Assemble the hoist. Step 2: Wheel the motor out of the garage. Step 3: Remove the...

    Galvanic Action

That bracket is different than your's Bob. The lower engine bolts thread into nuts welded (I think) to the inside of the bracket. You just have to put some sealant on the bolts when you install the motor. :)
